Oh, sorry, I missed this post...when I clicked on new posts, it took me straight to vector's. Didn't get the explanation. My bad. Smile

Never mind I forgot my question.

So we have learned Lucy's Mother is named Lena. Any chance she has a card?

*edit @* No Steffeny, Spider is a new person and not Lucy.

About the gun...

Somewhere I got the idea that the gun was a Navy Colt revolver - not sure where that game from.

Anyway, the gun that is most closely associated with JEB Stuart is not a Colt, but a French made LeMat pistol:

Quote:
Many foreign-made revolvers were imported and used by both sides. The French Lefaucheux "pin-fire", which took a special .45 caliber cartridge, armed many Federal troops in the Western theater. The Confederates purchased several thousand 5-shot "Kerr" revolvers, and a number of other types as well. The best-known of these, however, was the Le Mat. Developed in pre-war New Orleans, Louisiana, by Dr. Alexander Le Mat, this pistol fired nine .42 caliber bullets in addition to a .63 caliber shotgun charge.

Although a colorful pistol, and associated with such personalities as Confederate generals P.G.T.Beauregard, J.E.B. Stuart, and Captain Henry Wirz, relatively few were manufactured. Production problems proved difficult to overcome, and less than 3,000 were produced in France and England.

So am I wrong about calling the gun a Colt?

Considering that's how the gun is being referred to by multiple InGame characters, I'd say you're fine...:>

No. From the video:

video wrote:
LUCY: Navy colt six shot. Black powder. Cap and ball gun. I loaded it this morning.

And the gun in the video does appear to be a Navy Colt six-shot.

I just showed my father the video. He'd always talked about a Civil War gun he and my mother found in the attic of the old house when they moved in.

Watching the video, when he saw the gun, he gasped.

Then, when Lucy started describing the gun, he quoted with her. "Black powder. Cap and ball."

The only thing he said was different was that the one they found had a scene etched into its barrel.

They sold it for $500. I hope the only reason this one could potentially fetch $50,000 is because it has a Very Special History. Confused

Because this is a trout free zone...

Has anyone speculated on the "special history"?
I believe that this gun is infamous in history and has a very real background. One that people have killed for...
I decided instead of going on a goose chase after characters back through time, to start with the 1851 Navy Colt, because afterall, that's the common thread through this story.

Anyone else thinking along the same lines?

Whitecloud told Reed that the Nebraska kid he got the gun from told him (paraphrased) not to take the gun to a poker game, because when the gun is present people get shot with it.

In WWII, it was Father Mueller, in 1929 it will be a mobster -most likely related to the plot to off Al "Scarface" Capone. So far the Navy Colt has not been used in 2005 to the best of my recollection.

Is the story line not going backwards in time to the original owner?

The story line is going back in time. Started with Lucy inheriting the gun.

Then we went back in time to see how Lucky received the gun (poker and death involved).

Now we are going to learn how the Nebraska Lawman (Richardson) got the gun.

Next Saturday [spec] we will probably learn about how the man (or his family) that owned the gun before Richardson had it.

Ok I just had a Deja Vu moment about having typed this message before. I'm going to stop now.
