I didn't see this post before so didn't bother with an introduction.

I think I first read about Perplex City in a new media trade mag, or perhaps on Wired, or somewhere. It cropped up on my radar but took a month or so for me to investigate buying some cards. I really liked the artwork and puzzles on the cards, so I bought some more and started reading around.

Currently finding all the web info a bit too much to digest (my free time is limited), but I'm liking the style and the story. Would have liked to have gone to the event on Saturday (I'm London based), but was busy that day.

I work in new media (for the Science Museum in London) and write a blog, on various topics.

I've been doing quite a lot of card swapping using the trading site (my profile is here) and currently have 51 of the 70 cards available...

Cheers,

Frankie

Hmm, perhaps even one of your students, Mokey. Wouldnt that be awkward tho? (that is, I'm pretty sure you said were a teacher, right? Actually you referred to "work" and "class" in the same sense, which suggests, you know, class is work, meaning you're the prof ... Steel trap mind, me.)

Hi been putting a few posts on here but havent really introduced myself, so thought I should do that!

Hi, my names Andy, live near Gloucester in the UK, my username was actually a happy accident in that I was trying to spell lo-cu-tust from Star Trek:TNG and got it wrong, ah well.

Found perplex city in firebox's summer catalogue and was thought I would see what it was all bout, oh and I ordered one of those soundbug things for a prank at work. (anybody else got 1 cos I think they r cool!) Got hooked on the cards and I have 60 of the 66. To be honest I thought I could give it a good go solo then I saw the amount of online stuff and live event things and realised there is no way I could do this alone!

You may noticed on some posts I have a warped sense of humour but that shouldn't detract from my attempts at puzzle solving with you lot! Very Happy

Can't hide anything from you guys! Wink Yes, I suppose that would be a bit awkward. Hooray for alternate identities! Laughing In this case, though, I suppose we're safe for at least a couple of years. I teach college. Very Happy

Hi, another noob here Cool
Trying to read all the stuff on here to catch up but getting everso confused. Hopefully when my cards arrive it will help me a bit.
Been trying to find something online I can try and help with, but like I say, just seem to be going round in circles a bit and reading stuff I don't really get. Perhaps joining in the middle is not such a great idea? Confused

And another noob - this is my first ARG, only got into it cos I had so many £5 gift vouchers for Firebox from packs of Carling that I thought I should really find something to spend them on Wink

However, now I'm here I'm enjoying it - me and a friend are attempting this, with some 'creative' (read useless but amusing) input from my girlfriend.

Other stuff.... I'm 22 and have just graduated from Durham University.... a degree in physics and astronomy of all things, which has been quite useful so far with all the space questions so far Smile

I have all but 2 cards now, and have solved about 57 of them I think.... look forward to solving the rest along with you guys!

Neil

Hello, good evening and welcome to all of you, (and you lurkers out there, I know you're there! I can hear you breathing!)

If you've not already discovered it, the Story so Far is the best source for a summation of the current situation - all in one place, easily digested. These forums are the best source of information after that, and once you're up to speed, jumping in is easy enough.

Have any new people arrived after finding the cards we've been leaving around? Question

Hey guys,

Im new to Perplex and thought id introduce myself. Im a fellow student of s00bf08f (altho thats not his real name Smile ) who posted a few posts ago. Weve been going through the scanned cards and solving most of the puzzles, sometimes with the help of this great forum. Ive just finished reading up on the story so far, the guide, the blogs for Violet, Scarlett and Kurt, and feel like ive got a good grasp of all the stuff thats happened so far. Really enjoying it and me n s00bf08f ordered our first sets of cards today, and are looking forward to the new cards comin out.
Like s00bf08f, im studying Computer Science in University College Dublin, but im doing a masters not a phd. We are hoping our computer knowledge will help us solve puzzles and it has helped so far. Im particularly interested in the 2 encrypted cards Shuffled and The 13th Labour, n hopefully will be able to assist in solving them if not solving them myself.

Anyway, thats my introduction, im off to stare at Shuffled some more to see if i get a spark of an idea on how to crack the Solitaire cipher Smile

I've been curious about that myself. On a business trip last week I left a trail of cards from San Francisco through Heathrow Airport to Berlin and back....I hope it brought in at least one new player.

Keep meaning to post here! Have been lurking and posting for a little while now.

Hi everyone, I'm Ben, live in Woking, Surrey (at the moment), and usually work as a doctor when I'm not taking time off to move house and get married.

Discovered Perplex City after reading the Guardian (I think) while at work on a quiet night shift, then spent the rest of the night on the internet instead of getting a nap.

Good work! Did you leave any of your details on the cards by way of feedback? I know Seej was directing people who found his cards to his website. I'd be interested to know if that worked cos it seems quite a friendly way to introduce new people.

That would have been a good idea but I didn't think of that. Embarassed Grabbed the cards at the last minute.

Hello, I'm Emily, I'm 21, a recent psychology graduate and fiancee of Riiick. I got into Perplex City when Riiick dragged me into it! Laughing I was at the recent event in Clapham Common, you might know me as the girl with the pink hair! It was a great day and was nice to meet everyone.
