[SPEC] Relevance of color schemes

Might be nothing, and not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but on the little-boxes.net site, Beth's color scheme for her links curiously follows the old ROY G. BIV color scheme we learned back in Science class. (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet). It has to do with spectral patterns and light, which would tie in to the whole Vortex deal.. etc.

Might mean something... might be silly.

don't mean to laugh at you, but i got a real chuckle out of "the old Roy G. Biv color scheme".

Never heard of it, although i did think the colors were interesting.

Chuckle meaning "Funny har har", or chuckle meaning "What a dope!"?

Seriously, I'll take both reactions...

All I know is whoever developed this ARG had a lot of time on their hands... Cool

It was a pneumonic device used to help you remember the spectral pattern and the color order of the rainbow. Found it interesting that she chose that color scheme plus the blackish one. I wonder if there is a tie in to the articles on her site?

Bill (Who shares a birthday with "Beth")

P.S. Odd occurence, just on the little-boxes.net and got a Bad Request Error. For some reason the page referred to sheismissing.info. Wonder if that was just a glitch or something I was supposed to see...

Since this thing started, everytime I visit the little boxes site I get that stupid song in the back of my head. Your point about colour made me think, hey why not? So I looked it up.

Quote:

Little Boxes

by Malvina Reynolds

Little boxes on the hillside, Little boxes made of tickytacky
Little boxes on the hillside, little boxes all the same
There's a green one and a pink one and a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky tacky and they all look just the same.

And the people in the houses all went to the university
Where they were put in boxes and they came out all the same,
And there's doctors and there's lawyers, and business executives
And they're all made out of ticky tacky and they all look just the same.

And they all play on the golf course and drink their martinis dry,
And they all have pretty children and the children go to school
And the children go to summer camp and then to the university
Where they are put in boxes and they come out all the same.

And the boys go into business and marry and raise a family
In boxes made of ticky tacky and they all look just the same

House?

Is Little Boxes a reference to being a House?

Actually, in a web chat that the Wachowski brothers did a couple of years ago, they mention "box" in response to a question:

Quote:
Enjoythesilence: How would you say Bound and the Matrix are similar?

WachowskiBros: Both films examine the idea of an individual searching for their true self while attempting to escape the box that we often make of our lives.

That, and if you look at cubicles (like Neo's) in manylarge corporate settings, they look like little boxes. I would imagine Beth lives in one at Metacortechs.

If you watch the making of or beyond the matrix, the filming of that scene is in it.

It shows the Brothers acting the scene through and you hear their direction to the camera.

(Thomas Anderson crouched in his cubicle)

"Tighter, make it Tighter, I want it to look like he's trapped in a little box."
(quoting from memory, may not be exact wording)
