Perhaps the telegram was from the Friday before, but then the action all picks up again the Friday after Black Thursday when RR arrives in town.

I modified the timeline above.
The telegram was sent on the 18th of October (which was a friday).
That telegram from Capone and the letter from Capone to Richardson/Vincenzo dated the 11th are the only 2 pieces with actual dates attached.
Since the telegram was dated the 18th, and most everything else from the update last weekend was dated "Friday", I agree with the current speculation that the "Friday" in question was the 25th. i.e. the day after Black Thursday.

So the telegram was sent a week before Richardson arrives.

But when was the bomb plot hatched? Not that weekend, or else how was there time for Anita to overhear, report to Al and for Al to send the telegram? Or maybe she overheard and reported earlier plotting that came to a head during the weekend we are playing poker with them.

Like johnny5 already said, the telegram wasn't about the bomb, nor was the letter. I think Al sent the letter to his brother, because he felt that he will be busted pretty soon. I guess, Richardson didn't take that too serious or didn't want to be involved.
Anita told Richardson about the bomb plot.

I guess it's like you say. The telegram was sent one week before RR arrived in Chicago, although I thought it's instant and there's no need to send it in advance.

? Al IS busted. He's in jail. The point is that whatever he heard (presumably in a letter from Anita from before the 18th) must have been about some other plot or just reports of general unrest among the troops; seems like the bomb plot was cooked up after Richardson got to town, UNLESS those plot text clips (and some of the Anita stuff) are also from before the 18th.

So another possible timeline has the plotters plotting, Anita overhearing (mix in Anita/Mickey interplay), Anita writes her set list (Ross bomb...), sends it to Al, Al telegraphs his brother, and then we pick up the rest of the plot with RR arriving.

No, that's not possible. Al certainly didn't send the telegram AFTER RR already arrived...huh?

And I know that Al is busted. But on Oct 11 - when he wrote the letter to his brother - he wasn't right?
That's all I'm saying.
Why he suspected being put behind bars is a different issue. Just about everyone could have told him or he figured it out himself. No need for Anita to be the one to tell him. Although she might have, sure, you'll never know.

Abraxas - Al Capone was in jail since May 1929. I think what aliendial is saying is: while in jail, he learned (through Anita, or just about any other source: rumors, other informants, etc.) that his guys are unhappy about him (he's a famous gangster, the FBI is always after him, etc.). He starts worrying that they they might be cooking something up, and especially that they may do something to his wife and kid. So, since he can't trust anybody, he asks his brother to go to Chicago to see what, if anything, is going on. His brother gets to Chicago and finds out that, indeed, they are planning on killing Al and his family when he gets released from jail (which won't happen for another 5 months, btw).

Oh, sorry. I didn't know he was in jail since May...I had in mind that he was only busted several weeks ago, no idea why.
Now I see what you are talking about, didn't even think about that.
The song list was a coded message to Al and that suggests that she was his informant before that, already. Yeah, I can see how that works.
