[HUMOUR] Mole captured!

Today, Riiick and I managed to successfully track down the mole, and torture him in an effort to get more information. Unfortunately he remained true to the Third Power, and very politely refused to tell us anything. Damn!

It really is him, just incase you didn't know what he looks like or didn't recognise him.

the amount of red-eye in both those pictures, even when he's looking at angles at which there should be no red-eye, is fFrightening. I think he actually has RED eyes!

Yes I did think that! Maybe they weren't expecting any of us to actually be there! They obviously underestimated us! Very Happy

Out of interest, does anybody remember what he was calling himself that Saturday?

Ha! That's excellent. Good to see he got what he deserved Very Happy . Do you think he's part of the company then, or just somebody they brought along for us to take our anger out on?

OOG-ness ensues...
There were a number of very nice people from Mind Candy there, including one of the newer members of the team...who *just happened* to bear an uncanny resemblance to someone we all know and hold a special place in our memory for...

Plus:- How many jobs do you find where you get to enact a daring escape on a helicopter in your first week of employment?

Minus:- How many jobs do you get where, in achieving said escape, you upset your customer-base to the point where we very nearly had a pitchfork-wielding/torch-waving/peasantry-storming-the-local-castle scenario? Also, where your name will forever be associated with the tag "Mmmmmoley moley moley moley mooooooooollle" (See Austin Powers:Goldmember)

Thanks to Dave, Dan, Fi, Paul and Naomi for being on hand to put up with a hundred and one random questions and suggestions throughout the day.

For those of you who simply *cannot* wait for the next wave:- On display, there was a new example of orange-hued loveliness, going by the monicker of "Pop Words", which deals with the uniting of groups of words with the decades in which they became popular. (It's another example of a card that is a good "hook" for giving to people a la "Band Name Etymology")

Aside from that, there were a sizeable number of celebrities who are now in possession of PerplexCity cards, with strict instructions that they should study them closely. I take no credit for this...it would be down to my lovely and (far more than I) assertive partner, who just kept striding up to celebs and pressing cards into their hands. She got a couple of semi-blank looks, but no outright refusals - and in the case of Alex Zahara (Stargate SG1/Babylon 5/lots of genre shows) he had a good long chat, then gave her a free autograph (these were running at £15 a pop!) and had one of his entourage take a photo of them both *with* PxC cards on display, which should be emailed to us next week.

Second big coup of the day which was landed, a double-team effort with Fi from MC, was Toby Stephens ("Gustav Graves"-Bond Villain-"Die Another Day") who was fortunate(?) enough to be sat directly opposite the MC stand, and was silly enough to look bored. Cue one set of cards, presented to him, which he proceeded to work his way through. Later on, he seemed to have made his way through all of the initial cards, so a shiny new unopened pack was hand delivered to him - and again, a photo was garnered of said star, with said cards on display.

*slides back IG

*mutters darkly to himself*

P.S. Thanks again - a really enjoyable day out, amongst the denizens of the Expo.

Small addendum - during the course of the day, I was accosted by several people, all very keen to shove pieces of brightly coloured paper into my hand.

Although I was quite resolved to not pick up half a ton of convention junk mail, I did fall foul of two of these distributors...the first was garbed in skintight wrestling gear, had a black eye, and frankly, I wasn't going to start an argument with her over a flyer. The second had taken an altogether different approach, as upon first glance, it was difficult to see exactly what it *was* that she had come dressed in...indeed, the thought crossed my mind that she had not in fact come dressed at all. Suffice to say, knowing where to put my eyes was a challenge in itself, and for the sake of safety, my hands weren't going to be moving anywhere - thus, another flyer made it's way into my possession. I would have hailed her and returned it as she made off into the thronged crowds, perspiring fanboy geeks parting left and right of her in a "Moses-in-skintight-pvc" scenario, but I feared that I might struggle to find enough costume to tuck it into if she returned.

Ahem. Prologue notwithstanding, in disposing of these items later on in a suitable waste management receptacle, I did notice the below symbol, upon said "bin".

However...when I approached Mind Candy with this clear example of Third Power infiltration of the London Expo, I was universally laughed at and told that my theory shared a lot in common with the contents of the bin...
