So look it up. Shocked

How? I don't have a piano next to me,

Sorry, thought you were talking to me, you didn't refer to anything in your post.

(resists temptation to make joke about piano, keys and searching)

It is just scratching at the end of the swf. Almost like hes just taking a chopstick and scratching it on the desk. The message also points that he is just scratching. The scratching is to the tune of the music. So, we might want to take a look at the music he is probably pointing out.

Music Theory

Hi...

Been grabbin' my guitar to figure out some of those tones in there...come up with this so far...

I've got two loops playing simultaniously...
I'm not 100% sure about this though...

1. 3 tones:

F#/Gb
A#/Bb
C#/Db

Which spell out an F#/Gb major chord...
That could mean either a C#/Db scale or a Gb/F# scale

2. 7 tones

C#/Db x 2
D#/Eb
C#/Db x 2
D#/Eb
E#/F

Which is either Ab/G# major / F minor or Gb/F# scale dertemined by how you analyse it. #2 doesn't seem to spell out a specific chord...

Conclusion: We're in Gb/F# major / Eb/D# minor scale...

There is at least 1 more loop in there I could'nt quite figure out

Edit: Sorry about all the names for the same stuff...this is how music theory works...

And btw: # means sharp, b means flat

Absolutely useless i guess Crying or Very sad

Hmmm, and why "scritchety scratch" on the last line of the poem.

It deoesn't seem to go with the rest, almost like its a signature.

Edit: "scratch" woud be good hacker name

Not sure if it is relevant...

FYI, using the "wget|head" command I posted in an earlier response, the new carelessly.mic Flash file has the following timestamp header:

Last-Modified: Sun, 05 Oct 2003 04:19:16 GMT

This would make the order:
Oct 4 22:36 carelessly.mp3 "Perfect Attendance"
Oct 5 02:39 carelessly.jpg "Roll Call / First To The Spot"
Oct 5 03:14 carelessly.gif "Nice spot, cozy and clean."
Oct 5 03:22 carelessly.graffle Fire-eater
Oct 5 03:34 carelessly.txt "texel is..."
Oct 5 03:48 carelessly.doc "also."
Oct 5 04:19 carelessly.mic "I'm no poet, you're no hacker"

Okey, it took me a while to read thru this thread, and I see it's been a
while since someone referred to it, but still I want to correct a misunderstanding, however irrelevant :)

A texel is NOT a 3d pixel (a voxel is). Instead it's the basic element out of a texture (basically 2d image) is made of, which is then stretched over a 3d surface to have the illusion of having a material. So a texel is more like a pixel in a texture.

Other stuff. The sounds in the end of the swf hear like typing, and the keys are pressed exactly in the rythm of the music.

About the poet-hacker part of the sign: i would use this play of words in a position of a hacker, who is talking to a poet... or a writer maybe, possibly from pnj?

But you could. There are lots of online keyboards out there.
Here are a couple: http://www.mousmusic.com/keyboard.html & http://www.frontiernet.net/~imaging/play_a_piano.html

caveat: I don't have any experience with the things. If there is any need for them, I'm sure somebody has a better source.

the sound in the swf file

also sounds like someone hitting a punching bag, if you extract the audio, loop it in just the area the other sound begins, it sounds like punching.

Thanks, I bookmarked those. However, it seems Worznar already broke it down.

Just some loose thoughts;

Going back to the "Also." picture. I wondered if there was any significance of the dot at the end (also-dot).

"Also" is (in some contexts) another word for "And"

"And" is the translation of "Et" (from the "Et Tu")

New carelessly file found

carelessly.bh was found by me when I tried a Java program to hit the site every 2 seconds or so with a new extension. It only tried 1, 2 and 3-digit extensions.

Comments on using Java as a bruteforce tool? Maybe it better not be used Sad Maybe the new file (which is a GIF) was meant specifically for me and is a signal to stop.

*sigh* Who knows??!?

That seems to support the "spoon fed" theory Razz

Edit: can you add the latest one to the timeline please?

Omg, is there an end to these?! Thanks!

Looks like axii and something you might want to call a vortex? "CAN" is misspelled as "CAH".
