OK, I have squat for graphics on this machine, so I can't do much in the way of highlighting and cropping, etc. But if I'm not mistaken, that looks similar to the reddish image that was part of the highlighted area on the original Paintover.net picture, between the girl's face and the Wingding text. So, Marl - blow up the 00000001.jpg image, see if that looks at all like what you've highlighted.

Edit: I would find it a stretch that mellow=MLO (Ormond) - he's an old guy, probably not a hacker or someone who's going to go mucking around in FTP sites. He can barely figure out his voicemail.

bakers dozen = 13 plus a few more (5) would give 18
hmm.

Perhaps the false extension names are each person's characteristic call sign? That only one hacker would post .goo, one .txt, etc. This would only hold up if one were posted twice and obviously from the same person. More brainstorming.

 		Hey people, I have been lurking for a bit, really enjoying the game.

But we have to find out how all these clues connect. It appears to be calling cards of different people meeting up, obviously. What are we missing? Question Gotta throw out some ideas...

 		We've got to separate calling cards from communication once they've all confirmed they're in. References to each other (mlo/mello) seem to help. BriEn's list with corresponding times seems apt.
