[LIVE EVENT] Atlanta Tombstone Poker and Special Favor

We'll try to keep you posted on what's going on in Atlanta today...

12:04pm PST - "Tables will be closed for about 10 minutes while we calculate this week's top chip winners, and reset for next week's play." -- we await the special instructions...

(edit -- no more sticky, onto Los Angeles! -- catherwood)

special instructions

Your friends at the historic Oakland Cemetery have a special mission today, a mission that starts immediately after the Tombstone Hold 'Em winners have been crowned.

When it's time for your friends to pick up their marching orders, tell them to head toward the cemetery center. They're looking for the spot where koi swim under perpetual rain. Along the outer rim, I've left them a holster full of instructions.

Stick around-if your friends aren't handy with orienteering, you can be their compass.

At each stop of their journey today, I'm going to ask them to show each other their pocket cards. That's a lesson I learned in Atlanta-sometimes you have to be willing to show the cards. Maybe they'll show you too. Or maybe it'll just be between them, Oakland's living and dead.

At the end of it all, I'm going to swing your friends Frequency Modulation, and they'll want your help finding the sweet spot on the dial. So when the time comes, let them know I've dealt 'em a nine, a joker, and a seven.

If you friends get the favor right, we'll all take another step backwards. Because there's one more story that needs telling...

yes, we're assuming this week's frequency will be 90.7 FM

Clayfoot and Robogriff have won the tournament!

And the gang has just found the holster!

In the holster of instructions, they have a question to answer at each grave site.
Quote:
At each stop of their journey today, I'm going to ask them to show each other their pocket cards.

For example: "Take a moment to figure out what you would like people to remember about you." Then every person in the entourage takes a turn and says something out loud.

The full list of instructions will be made available later. Right now, the troops have reached their final grave and are holding hands...

...and are now tuning in the radio...

They're having troubles with the reception. But they were given a hint of what comes next: After the offering, they're getting a document, and a key -- potentially a puzzle!

They finished the task, but seem to be having trouble with the radio. The photographer ducked away to fix something. Still waiting on a site update.

EDIT: 100th Post!

Reports from the field (courtesy of Thunderclap via krystyn):
"We found a deck of cards"
"Message in the deck of cards."
"Looks like a pictogram"
"Sorrow or mortality is our first word."
"Open urn so it's sorrow"
"Daisy - innocence or hope"
"Oak - loyalty strength and honor"
"Sword - power, justice, authority"
"Crate - final resting place"
"Butterfly - resurrection"
"IHS - Jesus"
"Bible - concealed from man"
"Shell - new life after death"

Later...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The cemetery has a plaque which details the meaning for each pictograph.
<ahecht> The first one is Sorrow, Innocence/hope, loyalty/strength/honor, Power/Justice/Authority, Stoicism
which became
<MapMaker> Sorrow Innocence Loyalty Authority Stoicism
which became SILAS.
Further solving yielded SILAS R. CAIN, our first card in the new update.

get ready to do the Time Warp!

"Your friends in the Atlanta Cemetery have honored the dead. Now it is my turn. Two minutes to LAST CALL."

"Your friends at the Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta have done me a very big favor. Now I'm going to do one for you. Give me five minutes to wake up some old friends..."

(And I'm moving over to the updates thread to report on what happens next!)

Videos from Atlanta event

I've uploaded all of my little DV cam videos to Google Video. After I get 'em all updated and verified by Google, you should be able to find them on video.google.com by searching for LastCallPoker. The first video should be verified soon, the rest will hopefully clear by tomorrow.

UPDATE: Forget it. Google video is too much trouble. Look for the videos on vSocial.
