happy birthday, splinternails, wherever you are. I hope you're having fun.

splinternails.com and splinterworld will be back online for approximately one week, starting at some point this weekend. after this, all files will be pulled offline and tucked away for safe-keeping.

the [splintersongs] may be mirrored eventually elsewhere, as per a promise that was made many months ago. this is still up for consideration. any news regarding this will be posted here.

what happened:

at approximately 3am PST (8pm? Japan time) on August 26th, random martin / splinternails / et al. vanished.

the sites were deleted. all e-mail addresses and other contact sources went with them. his pager was deactivated.

the site trackers show he accessed splinterworld at 3:00:59am PST, and accessed splinternails.com at 3:10:54am PST. they are the last hits showing before everything was wiped.

to say I am concerned is an understatement, to say the least.

I posted about that link here a couple of weeks ago. The stat counter on that page has been counting since August 2003, so I think it has to do with the old stuff.

 		Doh, indeed you did - missed that one entirely Smile It's definitely active, as the guy who's running it has been updating my wiki (here) - we posted some info/findings a while back, and he came and removed some items.

Take a look at the differences - note that the IP resolves to a japanese address (same as qu13e.com).

 		okay so today is the 13th on our "countdown" and the clock seems to have stopped-- on the 14 (every day the qu13e image and source have changed around 7 - 7:15 am west coast time but not today)
so, i'm hunting around for something...
