Anyone subscribe to "The Wise Marketer"?

There's an article called Marketing Trends for 2006 -- A Clash of Methods that apparently talks about ARGs, but you have to either be in marketing, or be a marketing student, to subscribe for free.

RE: Anyone subscribe to "The Wise Marketer"?

Hi guys,

You don't have to be a marketer, but it helps. If you'd like access to The Wise Marketer, simply register using a company email address, and put the word "ARGS" at the beginning of the TELEPPHONE NUMBER field, and our customer services team will be given instructions to welcome you Very Happy

Thanks for your interest - if you need help at any stage, there's a "Contact Us" page, at:
http://www.thewisemarketer.com/contact-us.asp?subject=ARGS

Cheers!

Follow-up to previous post - save some time & effort :)

This is waaay more helpful, I hope...

Here's what The Wise Marketer's article says about Alternative Reality Games (ARGs)...

Quote:
Brand marketers have tried a number of new approaches in 2005 ranging from branded entertainment to blogs and 'alternate reality' games to consumer-created content. But 2006 will be the year of the marketing "face-off" as traditionalists stick with what they know while others try yet more new methods, according to Drew Neisser, CEO for Renegade Marketing Group ... Alternate reality games such as 'I Love Bees' for Microsoft's Halo 2 game, and Audi's 'Art of the Heist', caused considerable interest among marketers and consumers alike ... "More games for grown-ups", says Neisser: Online gaming will continue to grow as a marketing tool, and for good reason: A well-crafted game can entice a sizeable audience to spend quality time with a brand without incremental marketing support. For example, the Nitrix game on Panasonic's website continues to draw 50,000+ players each month, despite the fact that it has never been promoted. Expect to see business-to-business (B2B) marketers taking an interest in online games, and using them as action-packed "edutainment" for clients, prospects and even internal sales teams.

... and that's all that's there is. But things are looking up for ARG fans in the near future, I'd say. If you want to ask Renegade Marketing anything about their predictions, their web address is:

Hope this all helps Smile

thanks :)

Folks, it's a pleasure to be helpful. We don't normally even get to touch on gaming in our editorial coverage (we're normally sooooo boring) but this has been fun. You guys are allllllright Smile

Thx for scrapping the dupe post, btw. I blame my dodgy IE browser. Ahem.
