Rose had a great idea (posted in the Nov 9th update thread).

I will be bringing a scroll of the folks that have passed.

She suggested that we have a reading of the names in memorium. I think we can drop a flower into the cemetery pond (or similar device) for each name as it is read. Maybe we pass the scroll around the circle and everyone reads a name aloud (from past to the present)?

Yes, yes it is. Cool

Count Team Boise IN!

Yes, you heard right!!!!! ALL of Team Boise. weephun, Mad Cow, Troy McClure, Shontu and MORE!!!

We all won the hex168 contest, which is flying us into LA on the 19th ... and we convinced them to fly us in early morning!!!

The Zero Hour event doesn't start until sundown on Sunday the 20th, so we'll have the whole day Saturday to PARTY with LCP!!!!

Looks like our flight is getting in To: Los Angeles CA, USA (LAX) 19Nov05 07:40am Saturday

Don't know yet where we're going to be staying, but the hotel is being covered for us, so no need to worry about us on that front.

I'll probably be renting a car (I haven't yet checked prices), so we'll see you all in LA!!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

LA location

Quote:
Arrive at Hollywood Forever Cemetery (6000 Santa Monica Blvd. Hollywood, CA 90038) between 1:30 and 2:00 PM Pacific time.

So is this where we thought it would be? I can't find where that is in the thread?

Also, the instructions seem the same as for the other events - so make sure you have the radio!

Sounds like so much fun!

And congrats Team Boise!!!

I really really really want to go! Unfortunately I can't find any airfare better than $366...

If anyone has any discount ideas for flying out of the SE, please let me know.

Try flying into a smaller airport then LAX. Long Beach, Burbank, or John Wayne in OC.

I have, Priceline didn't take any of my offers and kept suggesting I try more around the $350 level. I'll be experimenting more with those different airports once I get home today.

Oh man, I hope that you can find something! It'd be great to enjoy some graveyard games with you again!

In other LA trip news... I've updated the first post in this thread as well as the wiki! Plans are filling out and becoming pretty solid, but there are still a few questions. Also, I'd really like to have a pretty solid count for dinner on Friday, so if you're planning on attending (even if you'll be coming late and/or leaving early!) let me know.

wooo! I am so very excited!

Okay, this is wierd. Just got off the phone with my dad (he lives outside of LA so I'm crashing at his house on Saturday night).

I have relatives buried in the Jewish section of Hollywood Forever (previously Hollywood Memorial).

My dad's grandfather: William Brewer (his son, Jerome was my dad's father) who was born in Vienna and emmigrated to Nashville TN around the turn of the century (so after most of the gun history stuff).
My dad's grandmother: Anna (nee Cohen) & her second husband Mike Perlin (her daughter was Devorah Marion, my dad's mom).
Anna's parents: Hyman & Bertha Cohen

Okay, folks. Anybody that wants a contact or wants to *be* a contact needs to get in touch with me now, as the roster goes out Thursday this week.

BTW - My Treo has an IRC client. So hopefully I'll be able to log in from the game. Do continue on with the LoS stuff though, because we all know my luck with cel phones at live events. Very Happy

I live in Hollywood and can make a couple of suggestions on places to go afterwards. There's the Cat and the Fiddle on Sunset Blvd. near Cahuenga, a pub with a nice outdoor patio - you can see it at www.thecatandfiddle.com. There's also Toi on Sunset, a hip Thai restaurant full of rock posters and TVs and music playing - but it may be a bit small and loud for us. A couple of people have mentioned the Stinking Rose, which is a pretty fine restaurant with decent prices - would also need reservations I think... I hope this helps!
