Can anyone confirm?
Pic 1.jpg has the same 'something' 11.jpg has. Suggests that its photoshopped but my God what an artist this must be if it is. the edge you mention is a bit suspect but can be a carved edge around the text.
Even the lighting looks ok but hard to check. Looking at the stone behind it that does not show any readable text you could conclude the "my mother" text is suprisingly clear.
The rest (coloring, hue, contrast etc) all fit with the rest of the picture.
Concluding: My best guess it must be the 'or so' option you mentioned.

Excellent sleuthing . How ever did you find it? And a countryman of ours no less. Must be a plot element.

My guess on the dots would be just orbs. Some kind of dust or reflection or something.

I just want to confirm for everyone that the music written on 18.jpg is Taps. For those who might not know, Taps is played at military funerals (also at "lights out" on military bases).
Draghkar, where is this "talking stones" database?

And now for a tea break.
*passes out tea and biscuits*
I believe one of these pics is a fake/extra. It may be the one on the 'end'.
Or one featuring that word.
Just food for thought!

Silly, silly newb question:
How do you guys post pictures? I know a way to post pictures, but it looks like it isn't the way you all post pictures. I want to post some stuff I found, but I want to conform to the format you're using.
Thanks Draghkar!

well lemme see.. i've been through all those darn picture of the graves and all.. see if i can figure out which pictures we might need to look at..
pic7 the thinker
pic9 genuine, this is the bank of lily pond
pic11 established genuine see pdf file
pic12 genuine, the large pillar in the distance is the fireman statue
pic13 genuine, is like pic 12
pic14 genuine, this is the bank of lily pond
pic15 genuine, is visible on the fomh.org
pic18 genuine, belongs to the statue in pic 15
presumed genuine based on the lil white poles that are abundant on mt hope cemetery:
pic3
pic5
pic8
pics not yet determined genuine:
pic1
pic2
pic4
pic6
pic10
pic16
pic17
out of those pictures only pic4 stands out to be different from the rest. dunno why, but it seems different. might be the angle on which the pic is taken, but it might be something else as well.

I'm pretty sure Pic 4 is part of the memorial for firefighters. The picture below is from the third gallery at http://fomh.org/Gallery/albums.php . Note the sphere with wings.

Mmm, tea. Merci.
I was baiting Layla on her journal about the 17 vs 18 discrepancy and she says it's just a typo.
Could still be significant, but it's not "ghosts have taken over my computer , again ".

Ummmm... The only question that I have at this point in time is "Is there a hidden trailhead?" or are we simply just waiting for things to get going?
I remember something about the e-mail from Morgan saying "You never know when we might have a case starting." So the assumption that I make from that is that the story will really start rolling when the site adds a mysterious case.
Other then that, I do not see anything to do other then wait (which I am more then happy to do. Can't wait for things to really get rolling on this one).

You could join us in some 'extraciricucular' snooping? Probably for the cats violin but it keeps us bizzy
@ draghkar: Do you ever sleep?
I agree with you on the genuin ones. The lil white poles can be seen on other cemetaries as wel. So indeed not real evidence.

To name but a few why's: Colorsetting (and not only the red foliage that sticks out likt the proverbial thumb. also the sky is blue, not greyish.)
Angle is very experimental specially when looking at the rest.( only pic not showing the ground)
No text on the column (making it harder to identify)
btw. The shadow of 3 people in pic 8? To the left in the treeshade I suspect the shadow of the one that took the picture. When I extrapolate the other 2 shadows they couldn't have taken this one, right?
And (as we all seen it but have not mentioned it):
Whats with the 'unneat' white borders round most pics? Needs some attention too?
!creepy!

Next weekend, the group will stage a re-enactment of Douglass' funeral in May 1895. He died in February when the ground was frozen and could not be buried immediately. -source (2003 so not actual this weekend )
