Location: perpetual state of confusion

FYI

I've made changes to the wiki with regards to the locations of the Roscoe's,

Gower and Sunset are right around the corner -- smaller, parking awful and may be a longer wait

Pico & La Brea 10 minutes away -- larger, parking not as bad, but.... and may have a shorter wait.

Roscoe's is very popular so whichever location we choose we will have a great meal, its the other factors that may come into play.

better parking & a possible shorter wait make the Pico & La Brea location a winner in my book. So, I'll make it all official like...

Saturday: if interested in meeting up before hand, get yourself to Roscoe's at Pico & La Brea around 11:00 AM. We'll head over to the cemetery from there.

Plan is, as I know it, to try and get to the cemetery between 1 & 1:30, so if you aren't planning on Roscoe's but want to hook up with others from UF before the Graveyard Games, that'd be the time to do it Smile

This is rather bittersweet. I want to be all woo! just 3/4 more days! Then I remember that means it's the Last Call Crying or Very sad

I talked to Shad0 on the phone tonight, he's got a cold.

Everybody send him healing energies so we can be sure to have him on Sat.!

Woody, Danielle, and I had been planning on seeing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on Friday night since that's when it's set to come out, but I also wanted to get together with everyone on Friday night. What we've decided on is that if enough people are up for seeing it in LA, then we can go ahead and make the drive *and* see the flick. I sort of need to know who'd be up for seeing it (after dinner, of course) before my group makes the call on going out, though.

I am totally up for it.

OK, so: Ciudad for dinner, Ariock and I can swing by there between 7:30-8 PM and maybe finish off someone's nachos, and guzzle a mojito or two, and then let's go in a big group and head out to see Harry Potter with a showtime of 9 PM or later?

WHO'S WITH ME? US? RAARRRRRRRRRRRR

It is playing at:

Laemmle Grand
349 S. Figueroa St., L.A.
10:15 PM

Flagship's University Village 3
3323 South Hoover St., L.A.
10:30 PM

Five Star Theatres Vista Theatre
4473 Sunset Drive, L.A.
9:45 PM

Loews Cineplex Magic Johnson
4020 Marlton Ave., L.A.
9:55 PM

I of course have no clue what's feasible/good for traffic and/or accomodating a decent-sized group.

Hmmm, I already have my tickets to see it on Midnight Thurs Night, but there's no law against seeing a movie twice Smile From the wiki, I know that HHM was looking for a group to see it at Mann's Chinese theater and then take a picture with the hat. Though, I think, the plan was to go to the 7pm showing and then picture afterward. Maybe, though, the plan was to get the picture beforehand and go to the 10:45 showing as she had asked people to meet there between 8 & 9 and the 7pm showing wouldn't be done yet. HHM? What was the plan here? There didn't seem to be any additional input on the movie, so I shrunk that bit down when I last updated the wiki.

Personally, I'd be much more in favor of more social plans where we could talk and enjoy each other's company. I mean, honestly, about the last thing that I'd want to do after meeting some of you all in person for the first time is be forced to sit in silence for 2.5 hours! I know that we were talking about poker and I'd promised to bring my chips out. As a plus, we don't have to worry about whether dinner is taking too long and how we'll get everyone out to the theater. I'll move in the way of the crowd though, and if that's to Harry Potter, then woo! harry potter!

Unless it has changed radically since I was last there (about 6 years ago), stay away from University Village. It only has three dinky, crappy, smelly, dirty theatres and it's also the only theatre within walking distance of the USC campus, which means the chances of it being packed are big.

If you guys don't do the Mann Theatre (which totally will be packed but is a nifty theatre), and if you have the car room, I would almost suggest heading to the Burbank AMC theatres, or maybe heading to Old Town Pasadena and the Paseo 14. Both areas have dining and shopping areas, and the theatres are nice and big. Universal City is another possibility, but parking can get expensive if you take a lot of cars.

Shoot, and I remembered that HHM had posted about seeing it. I wasn't trying to step on toes, there.

I am just not able to be with the group any earlier than 7:30PM at best, so.

Me too! I would much rather go drinkering and pokering, and... just about anything else than going to see Harry Potter Very Happy

No worries no worries. Smile Not toe stepping has been detectied as far as I know.

Okay, so my plan is to *hopefully*
- Leave work at 4pm
- Pick up hat that has been delivered during the day at my apartment.
- Stop by Disneyland or Del Amo Mall for quick "backup picture".
- Dinner with all y'all and then maybe we take a picture with it at MCT after dinner or movie or something, I want to be flexable.

Sat I planned to take a picture with somebody who hasn't had one yet at Roscoe's Historic Chicken and Waffles.

Kona will prolly want the hat back at that point, but I'd like to get a picture of the hat at the Lone Ranger Rock where the dios de los muertos alter was.

Ooooh, how far away is that location? After the graveyard and drinks across the way at Lucy's, I'd be up for a trip out there for a sunset bottle of champagne in honor of 1) the spirits of our "dearly departed characters (both good and bad), 2) 4orty2wo and all the great storytellers and actors who provided us with such great fun this past two months (not to mention all the procrastination from real life it caused me), and 3) Unslingers around the world who keep the spec alive.

Bring that hat, the box, and any other memory from this adventure! Sweet.
