A newbish question on the nature of ARGs

Very simple question. Do I have to get in at the beginning of an ARG to be able to play it properly? I just found the Omnifam site and am working on the crossword puzzle, but I'm seeing topic headers around here that indicate the game is already well underway. If I start moving into the game world, will I be confused because certain things are accessible that I'm not supposed to know until later, or will the game sites somehow dectect my level of progress and adjust accordingly?

Did that make sense?

You don't have to be in on it since day one. You can even play sequels without having played the first.
You can read all you need here, or at immersionunlimited.com, or google for other discussion forums to get your fix.
You won't be confused if you can navigate with a mouse - it's not all that hard, don't let all the information be daunting.
Generally speaking, the creators of games don't -constantly- tweak their pages and whatnot to level off at the average skill level,.
We usually all work on the same thing or things. Smile Universal, it's nice,...

In the case of Omnifam, just complete the crossword puzzle - so the PM(s) know you're playing and can send emails to you... then you can jump in where we are now.

It's being played mostly at SD-1.net if you wanna help us out there Smile

This is the record of the Omnifam ARG so far.. It's a bit of a long read, but you can skim through it. Not totally necessary though.: http://sd-1.net/index.php?showtopic=42637
