New here

Just wanted to say hello. I'm new to the entire ARG genre, but after only spending a couple of hours reading I'm completely intruiged. I have read just about everything I could possibly find regarding not only ARG's, but also the forums' conducts and rules.

If this, or any post, is ever improper, please just let me know or I will wander aimlessly probably agrivating many others. Best wishes to all and I look forward to a great gaming experience.

I've already searched through the games, and hopefully have found a game not to disrupt or start from by catching up too much. Lets just hope there is water in that pool because I plan on diving in head first.

Welcome Glecius! We're glad to have you around. I think you'll find things comfy here Smile

I'm curious which game you're starting with...

May I reccomend Rookery Tower two (as it hasn't really started yet, and if it's anything like the first, it should be a good introduction to playing an ARG in the "classical" style (good puzzles, leading to more clues, unraveling the story with regular updates, etc...)

But regardless of what you choose, we're glad to have you here. And I don't think you'll have to worry about bad posting. If you've read and understood the rules of the forum, you're already above a lot of "newbies" already Smile

Good to have you on board!

I was actually looking into Orbital Colony, as it seemed like very little info as of yet to get up to speed, but that was the extent of my abilities to discern as of yet. Is that a bad choice of pool to jump in for a complete beginner?

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll look into Rookery Tower II as well.

Orbital Colony should also be good, but be aware that it is a Puppetmaster training project, so the curtain may not be as tightly drawn on that one as you would normally have, if you know what I mean.

However, it is just starting and should be good, from what we've seen lately. Of course, it's completely your choice whatever you choose.

Other projects that seem to be looming in the horizon:

Project Gateway 2 should be starting in a couple months, according to Seraphina Brennan, the PM of that one...

While not an ARG, per se (well it sort of is...) is this EDOC Laundry thing... that looks at the very least, interesting.

There's an apparent ARG called KARMA that's starting up too...

hmm... a lot of "grassroots projects" but no "new" "corporate ARGS" are looming at present. (corporate args tend to be a bit more stable, in terms of percentages, but you also tend to get a lot of good storytelling in the grassroots efforts, so it's a tossup there...)

Um, yeah, I think that's all the advice I can give. Smile

See you around the forums, and happy gaming!

TO PHAEDRA: I know, Phaedra... but don't smiley faces count as parentheses? Did I miss the memo? Smile
