Firebox email cards

Just got sent a card by email from Firebox in a mini mailer, strangely it arrived in an account that I had signed up with years ago (switched to gmail when it was released). Free card with a unique code attached.

I got Orange #56 Gravity

The email seemed aimed at people who hadn't bought before as my normal email account definitely hasn't got one of these.

Can anybody else say whether they've received this?

Looking on the Perplexcity leaderboard, most people who have solved it have only solved this one.

Yup, my housemate is buying this wave (I bought the cards from wave 0.5), and he got the card as well - orange 56, Gravity. Not that it'll give anyone an advantage, with wave 2 already being shipped if you got your orders in in time Smile

I got one of these at an email address that has both purchased a decent number of cards and has been active on the leaderboard, so I do not think they are strictly targeting inactive people. It could be their mass-mailing takes a while (maybe they started sending to the old email addresses and have not yet worked up to your current one yet), or it could be ending up in a spambox. Or maybe they are just sending it to people completely randomly.

spooky or what?

I was reading this thread, and thinking 'why have I been left out! I should get an e-mail', and then msn messenger showed an alert saying that I just received an e-mail from Firebox.com.

I received this email card as well. It was sent to the email that I used to order cards from Firebox earlier in the year. My guess is that it has been sent to all Firebox customers who agreed to be contacted via email. I seem to recall clicking a checkbox at firebox.com saying that they could do so.

I got mine from my firebox registered address.
I have ordered quite a few packs of cards using this email address(curse the duplicates).
I tend to use companySPLATmydomain.co.uk when registering so that I can at least see if companies are giving my email address to other companies etc.
the firebox email was addressed to fireboxSPLATmydomain.co.uk and I use a seperate one for perplexcity, unfiction etc.

It is, and Firebox are still mailing these out - I'm guessing to stagger the load on their mail servers. I got mine this morning, but I know someone who has the physical card in their packs received today.

I think that's right, it's going to all Firebox customers. Last night (UK time) the number of people registered on the Perplex city site was going up by about 200 an hour, and all with 14 points!!

PS i have a couple of spares if anyone cant wait for theirs to arrive
