#153 - blue - The Spider and the Fly - pixal set

Again no scan, I'm afraid.

Worth 39 points

This classic puzzle was first created in 1903 for The Strand Magazine by Henry Ernest Dudeney, one of the greatest puzzle-composers of all time.

In a room measuring 12m (height) x 12m (width) x 30m (length), there is a spider in the middle of one of the smaller walls, 1 metre from the ceiling. She sees a fly, too petrified to move, in the middle of the opposite wall, 1 metre from the floor.

What is the shortest path the spider can crawl, without leaving a surface, to get to the fly?

Here are the scans, for completeness sake.

Text on the back reads:

The Old Town Part 3

The area of the Old Town delineated by Caldera Street, Restoration Lane and New Hampden Street has seen a new influx of residents and small businesses in recent years, with the renovated Montclear Court and gardens being an integral part of the area's image.
