£25.00 POSTAGE TO US ?!? No matter what I had in my shopping cart (even tried *1* order of 5 packs), the postage changed from £3.95 to £25.00!!! Either I'll have to wait until they fix that bug, or I'll have to pass on this deal, altogether!
Has this happened to anyone else, ordering from the US?

The same thing happened to me ordering from Ireland, i got £13 postage for whatever number i had in shopping cart. Previous orders have been £3 shipping to Ireland. Seems to be the same bug that happened when Wave 2 initially came out on Firebox, they eventually fixed the problem and refunded anyone who asked about the over charge i believe.

I don't have enough in my account, to pay £25.00 for postage, even if it's refunded later! ARRRGH!!!

Hunting4Treasure, and all of our colonial cousins, I'd recommend a swift email to Firebox asking them about the excessive postage - there was a similar glitch the other day when ordering cards, so perhaps they fixed it once, and then reintroduced it with the "5 for 4" offer?
I must confess that I don't know if Firebox work Saturdays however, but if you get no response, I'm sure that I could give them a phone call tomorrow to try and establish what is going on, if you like,

I emailed them just before Hunting4Treasure posted this topic. However, i hardly expect them to reply to me or fix the problem in the middle of the night, so hopefully ill get a mail tomorrow morning. If i don't hear from them, i may go ahead with my purchase anyway in the hope of getting a refund later, as (unlike Hunting4Treasure) i can afford to pay the postage if i get it back at some point, just so i can be sure that i get the 5 for 4 offer as they may not get the problem fixed in time before the offer ends, especially since it's the weekend. If they don't fix the problem in time, i would imagine/hope that they would extend the offer so as people can avail of it at the proper postage rate

Juxta,
I've sent them an email. If I get no response by tomorrow, I'd *very much* appreciate you calling them for us! I really want to get in on this special, but the present postage alone, is more than what my *total* order would be!
In the past, my totals have *always* been:
Code:
++ YOUR ORDER ++
----------------
2 x PerplexCity (4 Packs) @9.95 GBP = 19.90 GBP
STANDARD POSTAGE & PACKING: 2.95 GBP
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
TOTAL: 22.85 GBP
Amount paid using cards: 20.85 GBP
Amount paid using gift vouchers: 2.00 GBP
I can understand an additional £1.00 for the extra pack, but an additional £22.05?!?
I'm on a fixed income, and that would be *impossible* for me, especially this late in the month!

No worries, I'll give them a call tomorrow and post the results - they also put £3.95 postage on mine too, so, I'm hazarding a guess that whatever bug they had earlier in the week, they managed to re-introduce when they changed it over to the "5 for 4" offer.

When Firebox added the Perplexcity Wave 2 cards, they had a problem with the postage, which went from 1.95 to 3.95 for UK customers, it went up by varying amounts for overseas customers as well.
I'm assuming that this is another glitch of theirs and that their messing up a lot, it took about a day for them to get it right, unfortunately with it being the weekend and all it may take until Monday for them to sort it out.
However, it should mean that they won't be processing orders and taking payment from cards either over the weekend, cause afaik they only despatch monday to friday. So there should be plenty of time for them to receive the emails of complaint and rectify it before cards are charged.
When I asked them, I quoted the order number, and explained that it was a bit high, they refunded me immediately.

I use my Visa *debit* card, and my bank shows the charge as *pending*, immediately. If I don't have enough in my account, I get an 'insufficient funds' charge, even if it's only *pending*, and hasn't actually been charged yet. Been there, done that, got it fixed once, but won't try that again!
Also, for anyone in the US, thinking of placing an order *next* month, be warned:
"Postage Costs are calculated automatically and displayed at the top of the order form when you select the destination country. For orders containing multiple products, you will only be charged the postage cost for one item. To make sure we maintain consistent levels of service we can unfortunately not accept overseas orders during the month of December. "
So, do I place my order now, at the £25.00 postage price? Wait! I *can't* do that!
Or do I wait, hoping to get an email saying the glitch has been fixed *in time*?
Or will FireBox extend the special until they can fix it *quickly*, within *this* month?
None of us *overseas* can place an order next month!
The stress-level is building! :::::hyperventilating:::::

It's a shame. I was really hoping to buy at least 5 or 10 packs. Hope it gets worked out before the deal is over.

I have a somewhat bad feeling that these are new delivery charges at Firebox. The postage info page on FIrebox now says that normal UK charge is 3.95....this was 1.95 yesterday. I simply will not pay 32 pounds when yesterday the charge would have been 2.95 to Australia. I really do hope I am wrong though.....

I found it here when I was trying to find a logical explanation for the huge postage hike.
Scroll down to 'Overseas Orders'.

I always saw that, I could never understand why the PPC cards were so cheap postage wise. I don't think that it will be going up, I think its just the Wave 2 glitch again.
