[EMAIL] 11/27 joinCARTS newsletter - Orbicon news update

Quote:
Just a few days ago we told you about Orbicon's trouble with Google. It appears that there is more to the story than even we thought.

Orbicon drops action

A reliable source inside Orbicon revealed today that Orbicon has signed a 10 year exclusive deal with all of the major Internet Global mapping software companies to provide global imaging data from their own satellite network due to launch over the next 2 years. In leaked Emails it is revealed that,

"What we are proposing here goes beyond the next generation in personal GPS mapping software with real-time imagery available on your mobile phone, laptop or PC anywhere across the globe. What our software will allow you to do is locate any registered broadcast electronic device or fixed IP address to within a few feet and then provide live images of that location. There are no Big Brother issues here, only registered equipment will be traceable. This service will of course come at a nominal cost to the user. We expect that many equipment manufactures or resellers will absorb these costs so that it will be free to the consumer. One of our partner companies, SAI, is already planning to incorporate this software in their next set of products currently in testing and development. We also plan to sell 'image exclusion' to any landowners by the square foot. If you don't want the neighbours looking in your backyard it won't happen."

Industry expert, Nigel Speak had the following to say on the subject,

"We've all been expecting an announcement like this for weeks but what's most interesting is the timescale. How Orbicon expects to find the manufacturing and launch capacity to put up a global network of surveillance satellites I have no idea. As far as I know only the US military, Russians or Europeans have this capability. I'm not sure Bronco has thought this one through, though he's surprised us in the past."

As of 00:00 today all images of Orbicon facilities had been removed from Google Earth.

A google search for Nigel Speak didn't immediatly turn up anything obvious, but we may have more digging to do.

Is there any significance to the misspellings in the letter?
