My initial foray into Firebox territory this morning has been...less than fruitful I fear. However, I will re-attempt it in a little while, and hopefully speak to someone who is a little more helpful, and a touch more understanding on the subject - as opposed to someone who simply uses my phonecall as an opportunity to talk all over me and answer the fundamental points which I am attempting to convey, by repeatedly telling me to "Call back on Monday".

Oh no! Don't they understand that Monday will be too late?!?
Thanks for trying, Juxta! It's much appreciated!

Fixed? Looks to be fixed now, please shout if it's not. Don't know if there was a glitch with the UK orders which upped it from £1.95 to £3.95, but will post as soon as I get an email response,
Cheers

Just placed my order and was only charged £1.95 for more than 1 pack so maybe they've been busy overnight and it's back to normal

'Twas just a glitch. Here's my e-mail response from Firebox:
Quote:
Thanks for emailing us,
Yes, you are right. Due to a glitch in the website we have charged you incorrectly, the correct charge is £1.95.
We apologise for any inconvenience and we will be applying a refund for the difference immediately.
Cheers

Apparently, the last time 'overseas' customers can purchase for Christmas, is Wednesday (2 more Firebox Christmas shopping days)! I posted the link *somewhere*, but Firebox does *not* ship 'overseas' during the month of December.
They also do *not* send catalogs to the US (although I've received them in every order *before* the Christmas catalog), resulting in no discount voucher found on the back. Do they *not* want our business?
They do *not* email £2.00 voucher codes to US customers "because shipping is already discounted for Perplex City cards"... ?!? Is it not "already discounted" to the UK, also? This strange marketing practice forced me to desperately *search* for Firebox vouchers, so now I've sent several individual orders using £5.00 vouchers found on the Internet, instead! It turned out much better for me (wish I'd thought of it months ago!), but it would have been in their best interest to have sent me the measly £2.00 voucher I asked for, in the first place, don't ya think? Strange marketing practice there!
They do *not* send the 'Perplex City Starter Pack' to the US, even if someone in the US *did* spend over £100.00! Why?!?
I'm sensing discrimination against US customers. Color me CONFUSED!

Scott: The word is that Firebox.com have stated that they won't ship overseas orders in December - the P&P glitch was just that, and was swiftly rectified - but anyone who wants to order you cards had better act swiftly, because December is rapidly approaching

To be fair, we have to put up with this kind of stuff all the time from US websites. Apart from the PPC stuff pretty much everything on Firebox can be ordered from US websites, in fact half the reason Firebox probably exists is so we Uk-ers don't have to pay exorbitant shipping prices to ThinkGeek ;) I've had firsthand experience of this in the last week from both the Hot Topic website screwing me about and not being able to find a Paint Your Own Cow Parade kit *anywhere* since Firebox sold out, apart from a million US sites that want to charge me more than twice the cost of the kit just to ship the thing. And I know plenty of places that won't accept international orders in December, if they even accept international orders at all.
So yes, it sucks for everyone who can't get what they want this Christmas, but thats just how it goes with online shopping, no need to get *too* angry at Firebox about it.

Tell me about it. Try living in Denmark....
P.S. Here's a Dutch site that seems to have Cows in stock.
