Well, I still hold to the theory that it can't be that Gillet Rd because, honestly, there never has and still isn't any form of subway station anywhere near there. That being said, the closest we have to a day atm is next Sunday, and I'm perfectly willing to head over there at ten (look exceedingly dodgy) and wait for some form of contact/search the area thoroughly. Whether either the time or the place is wrong is irrelevant, I don't mind since it's so close (hurrah for the end of term). Nor would I mind company, unless there would be too many people to scare off someone who could possibly be turning up.
That being said, we have other avenues to pursue until then, such as subways in other countries and subways in PXC. And there may well be some other ceremony of the kindling of the flame that's more Perplexian.

Ok, so the kindling of the flame, was that last sunday? Does that mean we have 3 days to find the place?

Sorry, should have made reference to it, uneasyjd mentioned earlier in the thread that the lighting of the torch for the Winter Olympics was last Sunday. With nothing else to go on it would make this Sunday a possibility. Whether or not it's the right flame kindling or not, who knows.

Sounds pretty likely to me, now we just need to confirm location, why are there no big events up north?
I wonder what they would have done if no-one bought the starter pack straight away and we missed the event.

I'm personally guessing that if we hadn't figured it out, a website with big capital letters would have said "GO HERE AT THIS TIME AND DO THIS!".
Not that I am saying Mind Candy are taking into account the fact that we may not always be on the ball.
Ok, that's totally what I'm saying.
After a lot of thought, I reckon it is definitely the Croydon Gillett Road, as it is quite close to Clapham, and there is a rail way line next to it.
Will scout it out tomorrow.

Hi - just found out about the missing cube a few days ago. This is all very exciting!
Well I don't think there was a tube station at Gillett road but if you follow the railway line next to it northwards you get to balham - which is a tube station on the Northern Line.
Unfortunatly the sat images just don't cover the area of interest!
If we don't find anything better I'd be happy to go down there on Sunday as I live in London.

the kindling of the flame
Just to provide an alternative explaination, couldn't this be some kind of ceremony held by the third power or some other religous group in ppc. I would suspect such a ceremony would be held on the winter solstice (in the northern hemisphere)
Many religous groups on our world have celebrated the winter solstice both for astronomical reasons and because crops were often planted around this period. This means that a metaphor such as the kindling of the flame would fitting both as a reference to the sun that is now growing in influence over the world and as a metaphor for the new life that has been planted in the soil.
Such a title for a ceremony would be fitting for both the various cubist sects and the 3P. This year the solstice falls on the 21st of December which would give a date of the 28th of December for the meet up.
(edit: your right, its December, not January)

I take it you meant to say 28th December. We really are just guessing at this point I suppose, but it is too much of a coincidence in my opinion that we have just had the olympic torch lit.
Consider:The bonus pack containing the CD was available from last friday, 2 days before the torch was lit, so we could technically have the cd from saturday. I'm gonna go on sunday just in case.

Guest books (as well as comments to blog entries that have comments enabled) have historically been out-of-game. It is just entirely too easy for a bored teenager to come in, write an entry like "6578616D706C652E636F6D" and sign it as Violet or Scarlet or Sente.

i'm certain the kindling of the flame is something related to the PCAG....not the earth olympics. i also feel that we will be given more information over the next month or so. i think its too early to jump to conclusions.

I'd rather reach conclusions early rather than late. The PCAG have already started, and I couldn't find anything to do with kindling flames.

I think it is worth going down this sunday.
a) they knew the date the tourch was lit so there is nothing to say they couldn't have recorded the message before hand
b) it seems a good suggestion. It is an obvious message, there is noway anybody would have missed it so i think MC thought they were safe putting the date so close.
c)What have we got to lose!

I think going on Sunday is a LOT like running to elephant and castle.

Agreed, its nomally pretty obvious when things like this are meant to happen, I should think it will be made clearer nearer the time be it sooner or later.

How? It says a week after the kindling of the torch/flame. Now, the most famous torch I can think of is the olympic torch/flame. I don't see how that doesnt seem obvious...
EDIT:
After actually deciding to do reserch on this, i cant find anything to show the torch was lit on sunday.
Was it actually last sunday, or is that a lie?
