The numbers count up and down and the letters that flash are..
po et tr y to
I saw the site that this pointed to awhile back, but now, it's gotten all.. strange.
Is it a trailhead?

I can't find anything, but that doesn't mean much
Not to mention, it's got a link to the sentrygun that was made by a couple of geeks (who have video of testing it on their brother... hehe) That has been around for a while. I know /. did a story on it a while ago.
But it could still be an ARG. If not, it's interesting, regardless. It's odd to have a "corporate web presence" without any substance whatsoever.
So I will withhold my judgement on this one until further notice (although my knee-jerk reaction is to say that there is not an ARG here).

USM seems to be a very real, non-ARGish startup company. You can find more info on the company here and stuff on the actual robotic gun they made here. It's pretty impressive stuff, actually.
I have no idea what the numbers or "poetryto" means, but I'm sure that this is not an ARG.
EDIT: Ah! Dorkmaster beat me to the punch!

Sju, right. Bottom 'disclaimer' on the sentrygun.
Don't Die Disclaimer: Don't use these plans, derivations of the gun, or anything to hurt people. In fact, don't hurt people.
I say the ball is still up in the air on this one. It surly is no éal'- bizz. Wooden clamp on a cameratripod. This is just fun.
Besides.. the tech used is outdated by about 20 years. Pretty impressive if they build it from scratch (software-wise) but has been done to death. Mainly the fact the 'target' has to wear a bright white shirt to be 'seen' by the gun is a dead giveaway for 1st of many prototypes.
Compare it to putting a computerchip into toys in the 80's Big WOW!! effect but hardly cuttingedge hightech.

To be honest, I think it's just two bored American kids with too much time on their hands, and way too much scrap metal

Ok. The Poetryto thing along with the numbers made me think ARG. I know it's been around for awhile, but yeah. I guess the company has been around for awhile.

Poettryto? The numbers are counting toward something. Even if they go up and down, they've been getting closer to zero's across the board overall. I say this because the first number used to be a 2, then a 1, now 0. Also, I'd guess Poettryto is an anagram, just because it doesn't make any sense. I don't know for what though. Any ideas?

***Big Announcement: I have partnered with Brian Mullins of SEIS Group, Inc. and we have incorporated USMechatronics to begin building sentry guns based on this technology. What does this mean for you guys? Well, we're going to come out with the first live-fire prototype in late December, and we hope to be in full production within one year. That means you might actually be able to have one soon!
looks like that's what's being counted down to.

Well, dere's only one way to find out whether it's the real deal or not.
Six days to go on my last check of the site. Then the truth will be revealed.

Are we sure that it says: po et tr y to
When I looked at it...it looked like the bottom of the o was cut off a little bit, I am thinking that it could be : po et tr y tn
I know that to at the end makes more sense.....but.....ya know, in case this ends up being an ARG...I dont want everyone thinking it is poettryto if it could possibly be poettrytn...

I also found this:
http://demfromct.dailykos.com/storyonly/2005/11/30/097/95278
It looks like maybe this is a real startup company but I dunno, with the Orbital colony game there is an actual company name Liftport....and they had an article in the CNN archives...yet Orbital Colony is still an ARG(NOTE: I havent been playing orbital colony because i was a little late, so if I made a mistake here, I am sorry), I dont know what to think, I am new at this so....
*EDIT*
I found this site by googling "Brian Mullins robotics"
