File Cabinet Pictures

The File Cabinet Pictures are different. The GIF has more color in it. Though i does not look liek it. The JPG is more greyscale and has very little color in it.

I am going to do some photoshopping tonight and see if one picture acts as a filter to the other. I just wish we had hints when we were wrong.

I really don't think that there is anymore effort to be put into the file cabinet pictures... they served it's purpose and delivered their message. The reason the colors are different is because there is always a slight palette change when an image is stegged.

IMHO it's best to focus on the message we got from it and not on the pics.

Ok, this is probably a coencidence, but I had to mention it.

On PaintOver.net, there is a <(=:|:=)> symbol.

The <(= and =)> are hyperlinks going to different pages.

That leaves us with :|: separating them.

On this very message board, at the bottom of every page, I see:

:|: untheme by unfiction.com :|:

The :|: is the same. Do we see many :|: symbols on the net?

Sorry if I am chasing my own tail, was just kind of funny. I'm sure an admin will set me straight in the next post.

I don't think its thats a good idea yet... but then again, I might be wrong and we could waste our time.

Call up Hack n Slash

Well, over at that "Hack and Slash" website... I am pretty sure it is fake, or at least, not related to the game.

http://www.hackandslash.com/ have a phone number if anyone wants to call them...

Hack and Slash
5765-F Burke Centre Parkway
Suite #125
Burke, VA 22015
703.626.8572

Want to debunk this now?

since some of you think we should look again at the first pict of paintover.net, here's my analysis of it

Facts:
1- comments with pic were: "Eye see" Which could also means "I see"
meaning we should examine what the little girl is looking at...

2- so the lillte girl is looking at 2 things, something that appears to be a queen of hearts and a section of the strange text.

3- we know that the strange text on right side means "always to have lessons to learn". and the kids looking at "s to l" with maybe "e" (lets suppose its "s to le" => stole)

We also know that:
"always to have lessons to learn" = alice in wonderland
queen of hearts = alice in wonderland

SO....
In alice, chapter XI, the queen believes the Knave stole the tarts she made and is ordering a trial to punish him.

from http://rackham.artpassions.net/alice11.html

" The Queen of Hearts, she made some tarts,
All on a summer day:
The Knave of Hearts, he stole those tarts,
And took them quite away! "

So maybe its a direction we should look at... maybe "knave" or "tarts" Rolling Eyes could be a login/pass somewhere...... i dont know Confused Confused

What do you think?

The first thing that springs to mind is that "Tarts" is an Anagram of "Start".

anyone notice that the first day is Oct 1, the Next Oct. 5, The Current Oct. 9, every 4 days. so the next would be the 13th.

snf there is no discussion room 11

An update from 4 to 4 days?
And why not the other pages are updated? This will be the only thing that we will have to break?

Perhaps the other pages were not updated because there is still some to find there?

Just random thougths...

You have to stop thinking in terms of "us" (the players) and "them" (the Pms).

If the game is played out right, then in game terms we're dealing with at least two sets of people, one set behind Metacortex / USH etc. the "official" people if you like and another set leaving the clues at Paintover - the "hackers".

It would make no sense in the Game for all the sites to be updated together.

Let's just hope the PMs see it that way Wink

This is pure speculation, but the file cabinet could refer to the archives on Little-Boxes. There are a great many directories there, and the URL paths under the "archives" folder go down several layers. For instance:

http://www.little-boxes.net/archives/
http://www.little-boxes.net/archives/KnowledgeBase/
http://www.little-boxes.net/archives/KnowledgeBase/attachments/

The Grabbing Internet Files (GIF) may refer to attached images in the knowledge base. Maybe some of the deleted documents have/had attached images? Maybe there are hidden files or folders? Of course, this is all unfounded--just speculation.

Archive #58 is supposed to have an attachment, but doesn't.

Attached is the possible file names and directories of little boxes and the software used to manage the site.

new to the chase...

I know this will seem unlikely, but in math there is a special kind of matrix called identity matrix. It's made only of ones in it's diagonal and zeros on the remaining positions...

Also, do you remember that Trinity used Alice in Wonderland clues? This is stated in Detective Story, and I'm pretty sure there is a guy there that talks about the Queen of Hearts...

Also, it is disturbing that we do not get more puzzles from the other sites... Perhaps Metacortex will change it1s site tomorrow, but I can't see any puzzles comming from there... Unless we can figure out how to log in as an employee. Maybe this will be the last thing to do in the game.

Also, someone on the paintover.net forum said that it could be STOH instead of STOL... in this case it'd be an anagram for HOST... perhaps the girl sees the host to the next clue... and what about the skelleton on that picture? It seems to be comming out of her, like some kind of parasite...

Btw, I might be exagerating but perhaps it is para-SITE...

I hope something I said is of any help to you...

Don't forget... in the original Matrix movie, SHE was the one who told Neo to follow the white rabbit...

Things that make you go "hmmmmm"

if 'eye see' is IC and we got STOL, Lotic is a word

lo·tic
adj.
Of, relating to, or living in moving water.

Another water reference.

indeed

I had forgotten about that, but since the sites are set in 2003, it's unlikely we'll interact with any character from the movie, since (correct me if I'm wrong) they are set between 1999 and 2000, perhaps extending over to 2001...

about the files found on the ftp... what about the "also." one? what also? could it be used to identify another hacker? Like in "I'm here also."

and this ftp was set in the aquapolis site... I'm no computer expert (though I'm an undergraduate Physicist) but I think that this ftp server must have been set up by someone from the inside, right?

so one of the hackers work for the aquapolis OR metacortex, since they are collaborating...
