Could it be a hint that theres something else we have seen or will soon see that needs to be flipped and mirrored? If this is the case it'll probably be a picture as text like that would be too obvious.

Not sure if this has already been covered (if so sorry, sorry. It's hard to keep up) but on the little-boxes document on Cascade Vortex there seems to be text missing. It reads, "increasing in strength as the subject gets closer t" and then there is a blank area. Not sure if this is a game glitch or a clue since Cascade Vortex seems to be the only little-boxes document with it's own webpage.

I even tried printing out the little boxes document but it is still a blank area.

About the visit link

Dunno if anyone noticed it but In the visit page there is some text:

"ccommodate buses, trailers, and RVs."

Is this a browser glitch or can anybody else see it?

The text also appears in the body of the page, only the A is missing.

Sorry if this has already been discused. I made a search and I could'nt find anything about this.

If you look at the source of the page (View/Source in Internet Explorer, for example), you can see where the error cropped up. Someone just forgot to delete that text when they were making up the page, I think.

Okay I'm just gonna try from the beginning. Is there anything to be said about the picture itself:

I'm not sure how much we can read into the envelope picture (prove me wrong...) but the one thing that jumps out at me about the house picture from the cascade vortex site is the absence of sky.

Now, I haven't had a chance to Photoshop it yet, but it looks to me as though someone has blanked out the sky in the background: it can't be night because the front of the house is too well lit.

Which makes me think that it might even be a CG image, but there's too much detail in the rubble and crap on the floor in the foreground for me to entertain that one for too long.

Of course, the sky could be intentionally blanked out because this might sctually be someones real house and they're protecting the innocent, but something tells me not in this game...

Anyone else had a chance to pull it to bits yet?

Don't know if straightening it up helps.

There doesn't seem to be much readable except the numbers.

I did it at higher res and reduced it to reduce loss.

A Bigger one is attached.

In the filing cabinet puzzle, they used a picture with a large black area to hide a steg, but I imagine this picture has been steg-scanned to death.

This is probably a stupid question: but has the "@" symbol that appears in the October 5th painover picture been discussed? Probably a link here. Anyway, if you haven't noticed it, look above the left side of the policeman's head.

Indeed the picture shows signs of editing around the roofline and in the right hand window.[/quote]

The postage on the envelope looks to be 33, 35, or 55 cents. The first two would mean the picture's over a year old, which given that many of these photos have been from stock sources, seems quite possible.

Wasn't there an image someone had taken from the background of the Metachortechs wallpaper that showed something like a giant @?

It might just be artifacts, but it looks like there are faces in the window. In fact, one of them (third from the bottom, center column) almost looks like the "red queen" face people saw next to the police in the Paintover picture.

Let's see if I can figure out this attachment thing here. Someone one the Yahoo! Metacortex group (I think) stripped off the binary and enhanced the color on the Wallpaper background image. I've attached it below. Hard to say if it's an @ sign - certainly circular elements, however.

Edit: A couple of things. One is that this is not the clearest image; someone also provided one at the full 1200x780 size. Might try and put that one up later.

Also - how do I put files in the Files section of the Puzzles area?

2nd Edit: OK, found the larger one - and yes, these are from the Yahoo! Metacortex group.
