OK, here's my oscar acceptance speech:-

I just put two and two together right at the end, I have to say the credit and much kudos goes to SteveC for putting that applet together so I could hear what it sounds like and work it out. Also to neuromancer, cassandra et al for starting us down the right path. I wouldn't have had a clue without you guys.

Right, on to the next one.

Congratulations!!!!

An idea along those lines was just beginning to form in my mind following beglee's post - "[blank] wants you" sounded a bit like that first-ever phone message.

My first reaction to this is that it is some sort of 'imprint' of someone saying a word, or something like that, a more sophisticated version of an oscilloscope read-out (e.g. http://www.swri.edu/4org/d14/EngAppl/Audio.htm).

... way back on 1st August. Please can I have a tiny bit of credit?

One of these days I'll actually solve something.

Well done guys, have to admit that I had very little input on this one after it veered away from topographical representations - I appreciate the amount of work everyone has put into this one, and just hope that I can be of more use in later cards - for example, some of the stuff I did on Shuffled turning out to be close (probably not likely though Wink )
