Kindling of the Flame

When we first worked out the message from The CD I sent and email to April Flynnt to find out if they celebrate anything to do with lighting a flame. I have just had a reply - see below
Quote:

Dear Earth-dweller,

We at the Botherhood of the Six are delighted to hear of your interest
in the Holy Light of the Cube! We are convinced that the presence of
the Cube on Earth has attuned the people of your planet to its message
and power. Soon the whole of your world will receive the glorious message
of Everlasting Peace which we enjoy every day.

Our festival of the Kindling of the Flame is a holy, meditative and
spiritual festival which occurs in Perplex City everhy year at first
snowfall. We encourage you to celebrate the festival in your own home town
at first snowfall, or you may join with us to celebrate when the first
snow falls in Perplex City. A late winter is predicted this year, but we
watch the skies eagerly evry day for this holy event. The festival is
also mentioned on our website, which contains more information about the
other celebrations in our year: www.brotherhoodofthesix.com.

With love, in the light of the Cube,
Sister April Flynnt.

So in order to know when we have to send someone to the abandoned subway we have to wait a week after the snow in PxC. I'm guessing the Sentinal will inform us if there is any snow or we could ask one of the guys if has started snowing yet or I could respond to Sister Flynnt to keep me informed of the weather there so I can Celebrate too.

Bert

Agreed, the website says:

Quote:
We are gratified that the people of Earth have shown such interest in our beliefs and way of life, even paying attention to minor festivals such as the Kindling of the Flame, which we celebrate each winter at first snowfall. We believe that this new interest in the Way of the Cube is directly caused by the Holy Presence of the Cube on Earth, brining its enlightenment to new worlds!

I got the exact same email just now, with the same "botherhood" spelling mistake and everything.

That'd be part of their new year celebration, I guess.

It quite clearly says it is when the first snow falls in Perplex City!

Actually, it was yesterday so we're a day late. Nice of them to inform us of the holiday the day after it happens in Charlottesville. It's funny how the festival also coincided with the third day of The Festival of the Broken Water Heater. It consisted of me taking a cold shower and cursing my landlord. Yay for snow and cold weather!

All you warm weather types should consider yourselves lucky - we had our first snowfall on 16 November.

Feh. In Florida we'll never get to do the Kindling of the Flame. Razz Maybe we can have a Cleaning of the Pool Festival. Cool
