Map scans

I was wondering if someone with all the current cards (plus a whole lot of time) would be able to make consistent scans (i.e. same image size/colour balance) of the backs of all the cards.

It would make our online map look a whole lot nicer and I'm sure everyone would be eternally grateful for whoever steps up Very Happy

By online map, are you referring to the one at perplexcitycardcatalog.com ?

I do have my own scans of all the cards I own, so if you can identify the images that you think need changing then I could send through some updates to Brian. The current map doesn't look too bad from where I'm sitting though ....

[EDIT] Actually, I see what you mean. It seems to me to be more of an issue with sizing than colour...
Brian, do you reckon it would be simpler to resubmit a 'standard-sized' reverse image for all cards, or for you to resize the images you've already got (or just to specify an image size in the html on the map page)?

most of them are correctly sized, the only exception seems to be sadako sasaki, it seems to be much more an issue of lighting.

The ones on the solid image version are all force-resized to 320x240, but the interactive map (with the frame at the bottom and mouseovers) is just a big HTML table with all of the images at their original uploaded sizes (which could be off by a few pixels.)

Sadako Sasaki is a "special" card in that the actual map information is overlayed with instructions for folding a paper crane.

What would be REALLY good though would be if we could contstuct a 'google maps' style package where by you could serch for streets and zoom in/out.

Maybe you can convince someone like xnbomb to convert it to GIS layers. Wink

I know what some of those words mean but not in that order.

Am I the only one who had *no* idea that solid image version existed?! Smile

The solid-image version is only linked from the forums; I had not gotten around to adding it to the site navigation yet.
