TerraQuest goes live, or does it? A press release just received by deaddrop.us indicates the game is live. I wonder if someone should tell MindQuest?

I don't understand... Someone have signed on it? I've read here and on CD. But terraquest is ready and started or not?

Right now, you can register and pay your money, but the game hasn't started quite yet.
"Soon," it says.

I've found two recent articles, neither of them said that it had already been launched, although one of them, written yesterday, said it will be released today.

Where did you receive your press release from? One of these articles is obviously based off of a press release from today.

I received the press release directly from MindQuest. I send an email to the press contact and inquired whether I should move the press release to my Gossip and Rumors column, to which I received the following reply at around 2:30 EST:
Quote:
Our tech team is updating it right now and also the mindquest.com site.
It is live

Oh my Gosh! they're updating the wrong site!

I'd say the PR and web depts aren't talking to each other (not surprising). I hope it updates soon.

Demo I DL'ed the demo and tried it out. It was stupidly easy, although I have a feeling that the actual game will be much more difficult.
Also, if you're thinking of registering, beware of the following:
DUE TO LEGAL RESTRICTIONS IN SOME JURISDICTIONS, THE SPONSOR MUST LIMIT PARTICIPATION AS FOLLOWS: (A) RESIDENTS OF ARKANSAS, DELAWARE, FLORIDA, AND FRANCE ARE ONLY ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE A GRAND PRIZE OF $125,000; (B) RESIDENTS OF ARIZONA, LOUISIANA, VERMONT, CANADA, AND JAPAN ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE ANY PRIZE.

Still pre-launch, but accepting registration/money.
You can keep an eye on the Game Status Page at

From the publicist:
Quote:
Bill,
I have just learned that the game is delayed for a few days apparently.
It is going to be live at the end of the week. Sorry for the inconvenience in mis-information - it has been announced though.

I think it's reasonable for there to be a little bit of time before the game gets going, to allow them to build a player base.

Well, it's the beginning of the next week, and still no launch.

They emailed me this morning to finalize their contact list "just before" the actual launch.

Good Evening, Bill,
As we make our final preparations for launch, I'm going through and
double-checking that everyone has been properly contacted in response to
your questions or comments. To verify, we did receive your message, and your email address has been added to my files. I'll be sending out an
email announcing the launch of the Game as soon as it's ready to go. If
you've any further questions, please feel free to contact me. I'd be happy
to help in any way I can. Have a nice evening,
