#048 - Orange - Pop Words (circle set)

I'm sorry I don't have a scanner but here's the text:

Every year has its buzzword - a word that has entered popular culture and represents the newest fashion, saying or biggest event of that year. A recent book in the UK by wordfox Susie Dent has identified every year's buzzword from 1904 (hip) to 2004 (chav)

The buzzwords below are grouped BY DECADE.

Can you identify which decade each set of words comes from?

A

kitten heels
ghetto fabulous
dot-commer

B

C

D

E

I'm pretty sure about these ones:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
A - 1990's, D - 1930's, E - 1970's, F - 1980's. Having trouble with B & C because it seems that some of the dates over lap. I think B could be 1900's or 1910 and C could be 1960's or 1950's.

I was born in the 80's and I've asked my parents but they getting old and senile. I was a late child - my Mum say's I was a surprise and my Dad says I was the result of a drunken hem hem. Nice.

LOL - if only all parents were as honest with their offspring! Laughing

Utilising Susie Dent's own list, I have:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
A=1990s
B=1910s
C=1960s
D=1920s
E=1970s
F=1980s

although obviously not as authoritative as the 'wordfox' suzie dent herself (good word, and cool person)...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
C has to be the 60s and not the 50s because miniskirts weren't even invented, let alone fashionable, until the 60s. Blame Andre Courreges or Mary Quant

rach =)

I can also confirm that the above is the correct answer, since one can view the entire list from 1904-2004 by clicking here.
