It took a couple of days (I have been both busy and sick), but the winner has been contacted. As soon as I hear back, the main contest page will have the details, hints, and solutions.

It looks like he is either too lazy (most likely!) or too modest to say...I wonder if I'm allowed to tell?! Wink

Sorry it took so long, but I have been sick as a dog and all my free time was used up trying to catch up on missed work deadlines. The winner, Riiick, has been officially announced. Hints and solutions are also online now.

Special mention should be given to SteveC who finished first and Hunting4Treasure who discovered a slight bug in the "three-columns of numbers" puzzle (which, fortunately did not render it unsolvable.)

Next time (for me, at least) might be a ways off. I set up the trail as something fun to do while waiting for the next round of cards (which, thankfully, arrived before the trail's contest expired.) It took a lot of thinking and a lot of work.

For those thinking of producing a similar type of contest/trail in the future: I would highly suggest making the prize a Firebox gift voucher (or some other virtual object) and not a stack of 40 cards. While the cost of shipping was not absolutely prohibitive, it still was a bit more than I bargained for.
