duckiemonster - Yup. Got it and added it to the list. I'll pot it up on the wiki for you and add you name to the list of authors. If you take a look there and then either mail a short description to the gmail account or get a log in and place it on the wiki then this too can be included in the final work.

Yeah, scrap my idea of including a photography essay. It was rubbish. Still, now i can concentrate on the games essay.

We still need people to put short bios up introducing themselves for this. Either on the Wiki (you can click your username on there to edit it) or by emailing to the tales.from.eath gmail account. If e-mailing, please be sure to include the title of your work and what name you want to be credited under.
We've also recieved a message from Seaside-Press, they want to make sure that everything relates to PPC in some way, either in content or via an introduction to the work. You can add that to the beginning of your work, email it to us (with title), or just leave it to us to come up with (but remember, there's a reason we're editing and not writing )
We need all of this done by Friday (this Friday, the 16th) to make sure we get everything set for the deadline.

How much does it need to be ralated? Could we just put, a sentence or two saying for the citizens of perplex city? Im no good with intros
Also Im looking at doing one or two more puzzles and grouping them together. Do you want them all on the same page, or could I lik to the previous pages already made?

From Ellen's e-mail:
Quote:
Firstly, in the case of the first two sections, it would be ideal if your contributors tried to tie the various pieces in with Perplex City somehow (or alternatively, if you added a short introduction to each piece). We obviously don't want to end up with a situation where our readers in Perplex City are faced with seemingly irrelevant subjects!
Secondly, this book is aimed at a general audience in Perplex City, so we would prefer it if it was 'family friendly'; basically, that means no profanity or excessive violence or sex.
If you don't feel that you can tie your story directly into Perplex City then perhaps a short introduction could be written to elaborate for Perplexed readers?
We have had a couple of stories with bits that could be seen as not being completely family friendly. We'll contact anyone we feel needs to make changes but if you feel your story may fall into this category then it may be worth thinking of a minor rewrite to get it passed the thought police? Obviously any swearing can easily be edited out but anything more serious may need to be passed back to the author for an updated submission.
Thanks

We have, really? Is that including the collaborative story? That thing must be huge by now...thank god it's nearing its conclusion.

As you may know, to get this book published we need to get each author to sign up to the Creative Commons licencing agreement.
To do this you will need to send an e-mail to Ellen Moriyama containing the following to text as this will then sign you up for the agreement. Without this your work CANNOT BE USED .
The address to e-mail to is emoriyamaSPLATseaside-press.com and your mail should include the following text:
I, [insert name here], confirm that the work submitted in my name is licensed to Seaside Press under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 2.5 deed (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/2.5/ ).
Can you also cc the e-mail to tales.from.earthSPLATgmail.com as well so that we know you have complied and won't spend time chasing you up!
Thanks

Wait, is the collaborative story seriously going to be included in this thing? Does that mean that everyone who contributed to that also has to sign the Creative Commons thingamabob?

Yes, the collaborative story will be in (last I heard) and everyone who contributed to it should do the Creative Commons thingie.
Also, everyone that has submitted an individual work should include the name they have the work credited as in the [insert name here] section. Perhaps in quotes or parentheses.

Well I have sent off the authorisation, and tried my best to add some intros to my stories to give them a PC bent, but its really kind of late to mention a restriction like that right now, isn't it?
When I started writing my first contribution there wasn't even a theme, and all of a sudden we have requirements I knew nothing about. I'd be pretty pissed off if my stories turned out not to be suitable because of a requirement that wasn't mentioned.

To be honest this was not something we had really twigged either until the mail from Seaside Press. I wouldn't worry too much about it as we can either tie in the stories to PPC or we can just include introductions to what the stories are about to add some context for Perplexian readers. (I don't foresee any situation where anything will be rejected on the grounds of not meeting requirements.)

You never know with these book publishers, man...
And if MC is actually going to publish this thing, I can understand they want it to be a coherent book at least...
