So.. I got a VERY awesome email from Seth tonight...

First I snet two messages to him ..

As to how we found "cooling vent", well, Stevie gave us the raw material. We managed to figure it out from there. She's a good kid and a very very bright one for her age.

We've gotten a few of the puzzles solved as well. Its taken all day.. I beleive I've been staring at a computer monitor virtually nonstop for... about 12 or 14 hours now. Took a break for dinner and one other significant break, but other than that we've been working the whole day. My eyes hurt from staring at a monitor and I beleive I may be mutating from the radiation Smile

Anyway, we've managed to get the following email solves so far

From the documents included, it seems like Dr. Bronco may have been a.. less than stellar guy morally speaking.

Now, I know that you said you can't reveal the contents of your investigation with us before.. but we're sharing information with you, I was hoping you might share some of what you know with us. Dr. Mae clearly asked you for help with Orbicon before he dissappeared.. we're guessing you've been working with him for a while. What do you know?

If you still do not feel you can tell us, I understand. We're still on the same side and will continue to share information we find.

Some more information. Now we seem to be getting into Steven's own personal encounters with Dr. Bronco.

Our current puzzle, from the page http://www.maefamily.info/steven/warmandcozy.html, has brought up a question.

We were curious what YOUR lucky number was, Seth. See.. there's a comment in the source code asking what "your lucky number is" and since these messages are meant for you, we thought your number may be significant.

I will continue to update you as our work progresses.

I've been working on these puzzles almost nonstop since you told me how to use "cooling vent". Even when I take a break to shut my eyes for awhile I see puzzles jumping around in front of me. I think we may be able to help each other on these puzzles, if anything so that each of us can occasionally get some sleep and stay sane.

I'm still a little hesitant to open up my entire investigation, but since I need your team's help on these puzzles I'll have to hope that you won't compromise anything. You do understand that a man's life is at stake here, right? This is a private investigation, which means that none of the information you discover yourself or read about in my investigation journal is to be made public knowledge. If your team agrees to my terms, you can see my investigation journal using the username "privateblog" and the password "k33p0ut". You might want to start at the beginning. Please don't make me regret bringing you and your friends into this investigation.

So now we can access his investigation journal.. LOOK! I'm mentioned by name..

Now I'm waiting a bit to hit submit to torture the people in chat....

OK... now I'm done.

EDITS: Ok.. not much in the way of puzzle help except that the theoryof it being something specific to Seth is now debunked. Lots of other interesting information though, filling in some pieces of the story.

I will of course email him and tell him how we solved the Alien text one.. giving credit to Sin Vraal and Amber of course, I'll also ask him to clarify he meanign of "4179" since he seems to know (We think its an asteroid number...THE asteroid... but I want to be sure)

One last note: Sicne we're now paret of Seth's investigation we MUST be careful before spreading specific information to others.. Stevie, Davina.. or anyone else that comes along. NBot sayign we CANT but it should be discussed first.. I beleive we can even make polls on these forums (right?) before we give out any big chunks of information and such.

I don't believe in luck. I believe that people can feel a certain excitement when something with a low probability of occurence happens to them, but I don't think there is a mysterious force named "luck" that transforms our lives; we transform them ourselves. For every event there is a logical reason behind its occurence.

People say they are lucky when they survive a car accident, when it was a seat belt that actually saved them. People will go through a series of ritualistic actions before hitting the spin button on a slot machine because they think they will somehow attract luck.

I'm a little concerned that I haven't heard back from Andrew or anyone on your team since I opened my investigation journal to you. I can tell people are accessing it from the website logs, but I have to wonder what the silence means. Andrew assured me that all of you were committed to helping me find out what happened to Steven.

So have you had any luck with the luck puzzle yet? I have a few theories I've been working on if you'd like to toss around some ideas.
