Hello!!!
We are Helen aged 22 and Ben aged 25 aka Team Mearlybrice (God that sounds sad! I prefer Mr & Mrs Herman!), we have been into perplexcity since july, being newly-weds and working full-time doesn't really make it easy for puzzle solving, but we still enjoy it most evenings (puzzle solving that is Wink ). We live in Southampton, but I'm from London and Ben is from Sheffield. We are totally hooked on this game who wouldn't be...? Anyway hope that we can be of some use and maybe meet some of you in the future!

I have posted a couple of times now. So its time to introduce myself. Or should I say - ourselves.

Yes, the previous post from mealybrice has obliged us to reveal that we too are a newlywed team of equal partners. cjfthistle is (are) in fact Chris and Sarah Ferguson of Stoneyburn.

This is getting a real coupley game now. Perhaps we can arrange dinner parties and meet in IKEA to talk about Sente. Or embarrass our future children by talking about it.

Hi,

Been lurking for a few days now so thought I'd sign in here.

I discovered Perplex City about a week ago and read through the Perplex City Guide to try and catch up with everything thats been going on (although i'm still feeling a bit lost!)

Since then I've signed up for emails from Scarlett and after cracking her code on the confirmation email I received, which pointed me in the direction of her archived emails, I've been reading through them.

Hopefully my starter pack should be arriving tomorrow so I can start solving some cards!

As I'm new to all this any help would be appreciated such as anything else I should be reading up on before I can really get involved or what part of the puzzle the group is actually working on at the moment?

Thanks and I'll see you around the forums.
Cool

Hi Sparky, welcome aboard the big yellow fun bus that is Perplex City (actual colour of bus may vary in your locale)

Whilst certainly not an exhaustive answer to your question, I would recommend two places where you can catch up on the storyline/ARG elements that have transpired thus far - firstly, Mind Candy have produced their Story so Far. This gives a detailed rundown of events which have transpired, and links to the relevant discoveries, websites and things of that nature.

Also, updated by our happy Mods here, there is the Update Blog This gives a slightly different view on events (possibly more from the perspective of the Cube Retrieval Team here on Earth) and shares many of the same links - but also provides links into relevant UnFiction threads too. It also has a multitude of handy links to many of the PxC websites which we have found - a full list of absolutely *everything* is here on UnFiction, but the main ones can be located on the Update Blog for convenience.

Either will give you a good grounding in what's happened thus far, if you read both then you'll know as much as we do. Wink

However, one piece of advice...don't try to digest it all in one sitting...your head is liable to explode, which may be colourful, but probably quite messy, a la "Scanners".

Questions are always welcomed in UnFiction, but remember, The Search Function Is Most Definitely Your Friend - many topics will already have threads running, or questions will have previously been asked (and answered). Also, if you look here you'll find the #syzygy chat room, where you'll usually find various denizens lurking at most hours of the day or night, and questions can also be posed in there.

As I'm sure you've already seen, the cards are all broken down into individual threads, both here on UnFiction, and also over at the main PxC forums too.

Welcome to the rabbithole,

J

Howdy Everyone!

MagikGuy falls under the Perplexian zodiac sign of "The Apple-Thief" and would like to aspire to become a Journalist when he is older and would like to study at Marmalejo College in Perplex City, the same place where Scarlett Kiteway is currently majoring in Journalism.

MagikGuy has been a devoted member of the Perplex City phenomenon from early August 2005 and wishes to do his best in order to help out Perplexians by finding the whereabouts of The Receda Cube.

MagikGuy has used the "Unforum" forum for quite a while now, but has not had the chance to really participate much. As he now has the time to do so, he has decided to start foremost off by writing in the "Introduction" thread and is doing just that!

MagikGuy hopes that you have enjoyed his introduction in the third person and are not annoyed that nearly every paragraph begins with "MagikGuy has..." lol

Regards,

Stefan

Wish I'd read the "don't try and absorb it all at once" warning before launching into the wiki... think my head just exploded. This thing is BIG.

Hi all,

I'm duckiemonster, you'll find me all over the flippin' int3rw3b. I discovered perplex city in a firebox.com email... purchesed some cards for my self, then the starter pack nice and early for my boyfriend's birthday...

...only for him to split up with me the next day...

... well, it should arrive tomorrow, so I guess that means it's mine now?! Very Happy

Very much looking forwards to solving the cards, attacking the nastily cryptic cube mystery and meeting all of you lovely people.

I thought I'd better put a little intro on here. I came across perplex city a few weeks back. I do sort of remember it in in its previous incarnation as project S. However I never played along then.

Previously I played the Beast (which ended up with some nice little props from the film AI - still waiting until I can use the credit card though). Hoping to have as much fun with this as I did with that.

And there Duckiemonster ... I thought you playing was my fault! Smile

My name is Hituro, I am web designer with too much time on my hands, and I was dragged kicking and screaming into the game by a puzzle obsessed friend. Luckily he has more money than me, so I have been able to gain from his spares Smile

Perplexcity is my first ARG, and I love it

Hi all,

I'm one of those hip-young-student types at RHUL, reading English and Creative Writing. I got my starter pack from Firebox a week or so ago (a christmas present to myself, mwaha) and have been fascinated by PXC ever since. Like a few others here I'm very new to the ARG scene, but from what I've seen there's some really unbelievable potential. Actually, I wish you were still accepting submissions for the book, as I would have loved to be a part of that...

Anyway, I'm just about to post a few thoughts on The Silver City, after having listened to it far too much in the last few days. See you all around!

Greetings!

My brother gave me four packs of cards for Christmas, and I have spent the last few days on and off exploring... I have never come across anything like this before, it's so huge! And mighty clever Smile

I am beginning to get the hang of it, and look forward to perhaps working with some of you as it progresses, unless I'm too late, heh.

Hi all,

Just a quickie introduction Smile (rather than an introductory quickie)

I'm a Tech Support Consultant working in London but living in Herts, my wife bought me Perplex City for Xmas as she know's I like a good puzzle!

So here I am, currently catching up on everything but I'm sure I'll have a few questions at some point so look forward to speaking to you all soon!

Smile

I'll be sure to drag the wife into the game as well Wink
(after her hr exams of course, to distract her beforehand would be just plain mean Wink )
