Raidar's hints are probably totally unrelated to the puzzle, but I thought I'd post them just the same. Gotta get back to work for now, but I agree the newsletter is a good path to follow. I knew "reduce obstacles" sounded familiar! Anyway, good luck with the puzzle!

That is (or possibly is) a nod to a previous ARG from the PMs. Smile

Or perhaps a nod to Iron Maiden. Laughing

"Seven Sisters"...

...has anyone tried anything related to the Pleiades/Messier Object 45?

I think the better clue we have is what Seths posted in his blog:
Quote:
I'm obviously missing some sort of lucky reference that Steven thinks I should be able to find.

We should focus in this direction, IMHO

I think the "lucky reference" noted there is in regards to the Lucky Numbers Newsletter puzzle discussed earlier in the thread. That post from Seth was put up before anyone had emailed him that we were looking at the newsletter. Subsequent replies from him have implied that the newsletter is the right direction to concentrate our efforts.

It would be in keeping with the other puzzles in the trail that Steven created that we have to solve some sort of code. The lucky puzzle from the newsletter is the only thing that resembles a code or cipher that I have seen with this trail puzzle - which perhaps we should call the "warmandcozy" puzzle to distinguish it from the lucky number puzzle in the newslettter. As I said before, good luck with this one!

Our good friend Mapmaker has been rendered virtually speechless. So.. slots, eh?

Before you try, YES, Ive tied

slots
theslots
lucky7s (again)
7up
7up7up7up
jackpot, thejackpot, etc

as both email addys and .htmls and no joy. But at least we've SEEN something new now.

I have also emailed Seth with this new development.

I also think that this could be a hammer to our heads that ASTEROID and Toutatis are NOT relevant to this solve. Y'all hear me? NOT? Or.. I had a comical idea.. we've somehow stumbled across part of the NEXT puzzle.. in which case.. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA.. kill me

Lets keep with this pattern.. posting thigns we try, but dont make new posts all the time..editing is fine too (so we dont flood the thread), but that'll keep us from constantly repeaatign already sent emails.

Oye, I almost forgot to post. I sent a letter to Seth yesterday:

Code:

Hi Seth, my name is Clinton.  I'm one of the people working with people like Amber Joy and Andrew on Steven's puzzle trail.  You wrote that you're deleting all of your notes and starting fresh; I thought I'd provide some of my basic notes so we can slowly re-enter the forest, so to speak, start looking again at the right trees and see if we can't find the path again. Here goes nothing…

The title is "prosperitas", which means "prosperity" in Latin. (Someone else mentioned earlier that it could also mean luck. Could you confirm this?)  The main page is one image, 7.jpg.  It has three links embedded inside the image, which lead to:

77.jpg – a rabbit looking at its foot, presumably means a "rabbit's foot".
777.jpg – a horseshoe.
7777.jpg - Falcor from the movie, "The Never-Ending Story".  All of these elements appear to be symbols of luck.
7.jpg contains a picture of one of the moon landings.  It also has the phrase "IF ONE IS LUCKY, A SOLITARY FANTASY CAN TOTALLY TRANSFORM ONE MILLION REALITIES."  A member of our team said this was a quote by Maya Angelou.

Lastly, the phrase "Bronco's lucky number must be 4179.  What's lucky for you?" is VERY important.  Two things:
· We need to figure out what 4179 means, and how it relates to Igor Bronco.
· What's lucky for Seth.  This is clearly either the answer, or a crucial step in figuring out the answer.
I feel that sometimes, we focus on one element waay too closely.  I'm sure everything we're given here is all very important; the problem is figuring out how each element matters.  Be sure to keep us updated.

- Clinton

No reply yet. Anxiously waiting a reply. I discovered at ARGFest that comparing notes works wonders when solving a puzzle. That was one of my favorite ARGFest moments, when Sin Vraal and I ripped through that brochure we got; I haven't solved a puzzle so fast in my life. Remember, sharing is caring! Very Happy

tried:
jackpot
onearmedbandit(s)
one-armedbandit(s)

no luck.

Stevie's lastest blog entry defines 'transform'. And as mapmaker already pointed out in that thread, we need to change something. Oh. but. what?

Edit to add: Maya Angelou's quote has the word 'transform' in it. Is that the place to start?

I went back and looked at the thread from the September newsletter with the Suduku puzzle. In that thread someone mentions that the Suduko is a part of a puzzle. Maybe the Suduko solutions need to be applied to this grid somehow?

The fact the answer to the Suduko is on the same page as the "lucky puzzle" and the symmetry of the Suduko answers made me wonder about the connection between the two puzzles.

Ok - I just realized that the spaces in the row of a Suduko are called "slots." As referenced by asteroid hint.

And I just saw the above emai from Raider about the newsletters - so we must need to use the letters from the grid with the Suduko solutions somehow.

Blah, don't try vomitus like 'onearmedbandit' just because something vaguely makes you think of it. The puzzle's gotta solve out PARTICULARLY before all these hints.

Now the second thing you said about the 'transform' in Maya Angelou's quote - that's very likely the intended note.

However, I've transformed this grid a million ways from Sunday and haven't read off anything in any column or row in ANY language I can recognize. I"ve done it in grid order, I've done it in 1-8 lucky phrase order, and i've done it in ASTEROID lucky phrase order, to no avail.

10x13, 5x26, 13x10, 26x5, 7xwhatever - hasn't been working for me.
