There appears to be a random component.
People are looking over my shoulder at work and I can't spend a lot of time on it.

Nice job, Abraxas! I haven't done Definite Integrals like these in a couple years, so I think I may have to wait until I get home to my precious TI-89. Unless of course we have someone among us who is less rusty with Integral Calculus?

Well, from page 3 of issue 3 of the Orbicon Newsletter, we know that on 9/27 someone vandalized the cafeteria bathroom. That's probably him.

Thanks, mapmaker (I just posted this in another thread, too). I'm trying to avoid the trial-and-error guessing game, but on a whim I tried the following (with no results):

There's most likely more to this we're not seeing yet, but I thought I'd try. Kudos to Shelina by the way for the solve on the warmandcozy puzzle (I too had rot-7'ed "asteroid" but dismissed it when it seemed to be gibberish Rolling Eyes

). Just goes to show you should follow through with 'potential solves' until you know for sure they won't work!

Just a status update on what the folks in IRC are thinking right now: we're hoping that Seth can, upon talking to the cleaning crew, find out specifics about the vandalism - maybe there was a puzzle hidden inside the mess. And maybe they took pictures!

Well, given that the name of the site is "binary foundation", we can pretty safely assume that this is a binary code. If we take the four sides of each square as binary digits, we would only have 16 possible letters, so it must be more complex than that. However, the squares touch, with no obvious breaks within the rows, so either each "digit" uses only three sides, or there is something else going on.
