[INTERACTION] [EMAIL] Davina's response 12/15/05

Well, its not anything important but I thought I'd post it. I sent Davina a birthday e-card and she emailed me back.

Quote:
Andrew,

Thank you so much for the birthday card! With all that is going on
around here I completely forgot about my birthday until Cordelia and
Stevie surprised me with a movie and a cake! They took me to see Narnia
and afterwards we went to the cafeteria to eat the cake. Cordelia had
one of the chefs bake me a big chocolate cake with white frosting, my
favorite. It said "Happy Birthday Davi". I think it was good for both
of them to get their minds off of Steven for awhile.

Thanks again!

Davina

I sent Davi a birthday card as well. I doubt it's relevant to puzzles or anything, but I'll post what I have for completeness:

Thanks for the birthday card! I love that picture of the moon! I can't remember the last time I received this many gifts and cards for my birthday! Stevie made me the cutest birthday card with a snowman and a dog on it. It's amazing that she's still so positive even after all that's been happening. She's convinced that Seth is going to figure out what happened to Steven and bring him back. Maybe it's some sort of coping mechanism, she can't deal with the thought of losing her father so she refuses to believe it's possible? I'm really starting to get worried.

Hi Davi,

I'm glad you enjoyed the bday card. I thought the moon was appropriate. Although, thinking about it now, since you seen the moon and space all the time, perhaps a picture of an earth panorama would have been better. Ah well. Next year. Smile

Stevie is an amazing little girl. I've seriously had better conversations with her about literature (ok, just Narnia) than some of my adult friends. Don't be too worried about Stevie's hopeful nature. It's a great quality to have. Persoanlly, I'm still hopeful for her. From little I have gathered, Steven seems like a very smart man. He wouldn't just get lost or injured. I can't speculate why, but I have a feeling there's a very good explanation for all of this.

Have faith. If you don't have enough, I'll share.

Love,
Caspian

That picture was great! I especially like the reflection on the water. I don't get to see anything like that up here. No sunsets, snowy mountains or clear blue skies either. We have the garden, but that's just not the same for me.

Stevie really is amazing. I'm just worried that she isn't preparing herself for the possibility that Steven isn't coming back. I don't know, I guess Cordelia knows best what to do. Oh Seth's on the phone. I've gotta go! Smile

Yeah, I was looking for a space picture, but the watery reflection is what caught my eye. So, glad you enjoyed! I understand what you mean about scenery. I recently hiked the Grand Canyon with some friends. I saw some of the most breathtaking views I could ever imagine. I will be sure to put some photos of that on my Flickr account for you.

I see your point about Stevie. And you obviously know her better than I. I think if she were an adult, I'd be more concerned. I've just always been of the opinion that kids should keep their hopes alive as long as possible, even some that seem irrational. I really have this gut feeling that Steven is alright and there's a logical explanation for everything. I'm sure that seems less and less likely every day, but it's still a possibility. Stranger things have happened.

Here's to keeping your hopes alive, too.
