Actually gaz, flat out you misunderstood me, i was simply saying if you are offended by it, don't get involved in the arg {or arg wanna-be}. I never meant for you to not have a debate about the issue {however spell check dear, please}. I simply did not want to go through another event like what happened in chat once upon a time during urban hunt when someone was SO offended by in-game content that was fictional yet based on a real group that words were spoken {i am not sure the debate/argument even made it onto the forums, but feel free to browse them as UH was a wonderfully successful grassroots ARG}. Does that clear it up? Believe it or not, i was trying to AVOID this bs.

{oh, and imbri: i don't think anyone should have secret organizations, male OR female, so no worries there. I Was one of many girlscouts who fought hard to allow male members, and I knew many female boyscouts. I just think sexism is wrong in general, no one's gender makes them better than anyone else. I am feminist, not a feminazi. hehehe}

Clarification

Pixie, I am sorry that you were misunderstood, but you said situation instead of ARG, which made it seem you were talking about forum discussions. In your first post you were quite aggressive, and attacked ME, and I am not even a Mason. Heck, the Masons are, and I quote:
Quote:
the "UK's largest secular, fraternal, and charitable organisation".

Surely the biggest secret society would be the least secret of them all, I mean a small secret society with, say 20 members would be very secret. I think that even families could probably come under the heading of a secret society. Every single family has secrets. I believe there to be many other secular societies all over the world.
I am sorry that you hate all secret societies, for if there were no secrets in the world, it would be a dull place. Societies that are only for men or women are not sexist, here are some examples of sexism:
Quote:
- A comment from a professor: "Women never do well in my classes."

Quote:
- A classroom remark: "You should have learned this in high school, except for the girls because they were too busy fussing with makeup."

I hope that has cleared things up for you, dear.

{Oh, and Pixie: Please, don't call me "dear" just to patronise me and to make me seem stupid} {Oh, and I can't be bothered to spell check.}

{Oh, and another point Pixie...I am British, and live in England, therefore what is the right spelling to me, might not be to you, dear.}

Whatever FreeThinker's objective was, I believe we've given this too much thought. I would've locked it from the second post. Gone too far already with no ARG or even timewaster in sight.

Locky!

And to think all this was started by some TROLL who did a drive by posting.

I'm seconding Ehsan's request for...

Locky!

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

(ps, My Dad's a mason too, as are most of our male family friends, and they have been nothing but encouraging and very supportive of anything I do, as a woman. Many people across the world have tarnished the Masonic name, and many others have turned the concept of FreeMasonry into some kind of rumoured devil worship and woman hating, hence all the bad, misunderstood media).

This is definitely an interesting topic (one that stemmed from almost nothing), but a bit of brain movement every now and then doesn't hurt anyone Smile Just as long as those with differing opinions realise that they don't need to persecute each other. That's how wars start.

I agree with the idea of not playing a game if it offends you. It's fiction. I mean, if someone created an ARG where the RSPCA existed solely as a front for a kitty slaughter house... Very Happy

I never meant for this to turn into anything - this is an example about how one misunderstanding can turn into many, if i offended people by my non-statments, i am indeed sorry. I do feel much of what happened was spurred by one word being misunderstood, and i DO feel that is silly. in hope that this thread die the death it should have from the beginning, i to ask for a lock.
