I think the moderators, or someone like that, deem that the ARG in question is active enough to warrant its own channel. I think...

I know from experience that if you want to start your own channel, you can do so. Trust me. If it needed approval, a lot of grassroots games would never get off the ground.

How about #araya? Go ahead - join it, just like you would #unfiction or #immersionunlimited. If the channel doesn't already exist, you'll create it. Then you can register it with chanserv.

Alright, here is what you do:

/join #araya
/msg chanserv register #araya [password] [description of channel]

At least I think that's the order - the second line may have different syntax.

Anyways, that should take care of it

It definitely seems like the "listen out for berendt" clue is referring to something audio. In his introduction, JP mentions how his specialty is in aural surveillance.

Random checks on the website for .../berendt.mp3 and .../berendt.wav are misses.
