On the subject of trading etiquette, I was wondering if there are any guidelines for judging a good offer. For instance, are three orange cards (which will complete a set for me) good value in exchange for a blue?

I am very very sorry if this is discussed elsewhere - I did spend some time searching but found nothing. Please be gentle with me!

There are no guidelines for trades. You really need to weigh them up for yourself, if you think that it's a good deal, go for it. What one person may see as a great offer, another may see as a rip off, so it depends on you as much as them. It's your decision whether it's a good offer or not.

If it comes to the crunch I generally do it on point value. If the points are relatively equal I will most likely accept the trade Smile

I don't think point equality works for the higher order cards - they are much rarer than their point score suggests. Reds, oranges, yellows and greens are pretty similar in frequency, then I would probably go blue=2x as rare, purple 4x, black 8x and silver 32x.

I used to go on points, now I base it on value as per going rates on Ebay etc. If I'm offering the trade I try to make the offer pretty generous...

same here as the sheer amount of duplicate cards i have outweight the cards i need. i have no intention of selling excess cards or keeping them for sentimental reasons so try and get rid of as many as possible in trades i offer...

however (a big however!) in the past 3 weeks i have sent over 20 emails after going through lists and offering everything somone needs out of my extras for just one or two of their cards that i am looking for and am yet to recive a single response!! not one! maybe i come on too strong... or maybe i smell... either way its quite disappointing!

i rather fancy the idea of setting some ground rules like if your gonna register, your gonna have to reply to emails within a certain time or get negative feedback! then again maybe im just unlucky...

as for values of cards it is just down to a personal decision of whether you think you are getting a good deal or not! the only other way i can think to differentiate is by going with the px points system and add up lower values to make higher values!!

anyway just my 2 pence worth of a rant lol!!!

craig

edit: forgot to say, good luck with all yer trades folks!!

EDIT #2 gotta say i take half of what i said up above back. thanks to one person (you know who you are!) my faith has been restored in the trading system!!

I now have most reds, oranges and yellows but 5 or 6 of some of EACH card from various sources, it makes it very hard to trade up though because people don't want to trade blacks for 20 reds (for example).;

I tend to think "do as you would be done by".

I'd be really annoyed if someone didn't keep their end of a trade up, but at the same time I'm not too bothered about how many points people are getting. As long as you're filling in the holes in your collection, you might as well give someone else a leg-up.

As for the extra extras... I'm planning on dropping them in pubs and ladies' loos around the city Smile

I know I was guilty of not replying to emails over the festive period. Embarassed I feel bad but there are really higher priorities when someones mails you on boxing day wanting to trade. And for that, I publicly apologise. Very Happy

And I've already started doing that duckiemonster... cept I've only left reds and oranges about. The average person won't have a clue what to do unless they've got the info on the back of those cards.

Ever come to Haverfordwest and you may notice the odd sticker floating around aswell. I wonder how they got there?! Wink Teehee!

Not to go off topic but I love those stickers. Is there any way to get hold of more without spending another 20 quid on a starter set? Smile

Firebox have been known to drop them into orders with the sweets and what have you - I think PlayLounge also gave me some stickers...once upon a time...aside from that, ask Mind Candy nicely Wink
