Tales From Earth. Book Update Greetings Earthlings!
We now have a final rough draft of the Tales From Earth book that is petty much 100% ready to send to Seaside Press. Scott is having a quick read through it to spot any obvious mistakes and misses on my part as I have been staring at the pages too long to remain 100% subjective!
The good news is we have more than enough entries for the book to be published. The bad news is that we will actually have to drop a small number of the submitted articles to make sure we are within the specified word count. The fairest way to do this has been to print off a list of all the stories, cut them up and quite literally pull them out of a hat!
I won't report the results back yet as it may be that Seaside give us the chance to add more back in. Whatever happens I will try and get Seaside to send copies of the book to everyone who submitted, even if they didn't make the final book.
Watch this space for more details.

Pulling them out of a hat might mean that some people will have multiple submissions, while others will have none at all, won't it?

Boo. I also think you should ask those with multiple first. Some of us have spent a lot time and effort (and got an E in mock exams) for this book so its fairer if everyone has at least one story in.

Ok, I knew there would be no easy way of doing this. I will, however, as you ask, have a look through those articles where there is more than one submission by an author and see what we can swap back in to get as many as possible of you in the book.
Happy Holidays!

Ok, I've gone back over the submissions and have re-arranged them so that we have dropped submissions from authors who submitted more than one article and added back in the ones from authors that would have been dropped completely. I think we now have at least one work from everyone. I'll e-mail or PM authors who are facing losing a piece of work and just check which they would prefer to keep in.
Obviously, it's Christmas Day today and I'm already getting evil glares from the family for sitting on the PC and not doing the 'opening presents' thing so may not be today that I get back to people.
Should be in the next couple of days though...
Happy Holidays!

I got a surprise present of a Sony PSP this year, so the book may have to wait a little longer!
Actually, I'll get it squared away ASAP.

Did my story get through? I sent it to sledgecallier about 2 weeks ago, but never got a response. I may or may not have actually sent it to the right address
I know i'm a bit late now - but I would love a copy of this book

Any chance of a final list of articles included?

Ok, to be clear, this is not a final list as there may be further inclusions of stories that seem to have got lost somewhere (e.g. Skenmy's)
However, as it stands the list is:
Quote:
Carnival of Monsters by MikeyJ
Which is Better? by Ryan Andrew
Dicing with the Devil by Hituro
Tuberunning by Ammonite
Spay's Invaders by Gibbet
Moonbeam by Cronogenesis
Reality? Virtually! By Sentinel
ilovenatalie.exe by GasparLewis
Where's My Meniscus by Bozzball
Tower of Cards by Gibbet
Draco Venatio by Scott
Number Cruncher by Cronogenesis
The Games We Play by Duckiemonster
The London 2012 Olympic Bid by Frankie Roberto
To Epiphany and Beyond...! by Fantastic Alan
Children's Games on Earth by Katie Goldblatt
DVD Games + The Harry Potter Phenomenon = A Happy Stefan! By MagikGuy
The Rebel Pirate by Cronogenesis
Rock Paper Scissors by Ukmarkwilson
Ramblerhyme I & II by GasparLewis
Coffee Addiction by Coxtin
The Expedition by Forg
When We Met by number9dream
Kabuki Belly Dancer by Mokey F. Rock
The Assignment by Enigmaster
The Night by Specterz
CIA: Hollywood's forbidden Fruit by Josh Black.
And then
The Unfiction Collaborative Story
And
The Perplex City D20 Module by Scott
If you read through the list and suddenly thinks 'where is my article' then let me know ASAP as I have (AFAIK) included at least one article from everyone who has sent one in.
Thanks.

No contact from anyone at all lately. Violet has been singularly uncommunicative through the whole process and now Ellen at Seaside Press seems to have dissapeared?
It's almost as if there's some 'christmas' type holiday thing going on and the puppet masters are all off stuffing their faces with minced pies and having a well earned rest...
