THUD! Is Pratchett in on it?

*dons anti-trout armour, I DID do a search, honest...*

Got a copy of THUD! by Terry Pratchett for Christmas (after a rather long wait) I'll bung the next bit in a spoiler in case any of you are in the middle of it Smile

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The plot just happens to be about dwarves that are searching for a "cube" which contains a recording of the true happenings at a famous dwarf-troll battle.

Probably completely nothing and I'm off on one after a little too much Christmas cheer, but there's a couple of number references and quotes in the book that might be worth checking out, and a lot of extrapolation that could be done Very Happy

I'm guessing it is just coincidence as I doubt anyone as well known as Terry Pratchett would be involved with Mind Candy to the point of changing books to match...

Still it's a nice idea.

(I'm officially awaiting THUD in softback before I go get it... I may not last that long though... Smile)

I'm waiting for the paperback version too, though I do have the game, and it's much more difficult that first it seems at first glance. I think it is just as cerebral as chess.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who waits for the paperbacks! My PTerry-reading friends keep trying to make me borrow their hardback copies.

Rather than in on it...he could be one of us! Come on then, own up, which of you is the esteemed Mr. Pratchett? (I suspect Leeravitz...he's always been the most verbose) Are any of the rest of you famous too? Imagine if the Earth cube retrievel team consisted of popular novelists...Maeve Binchey, Dick King Smith...

actually I forgot the collaborative story...none of us have any ability in this field at all.

If I had friends that bought the hardcover, I'd definitely borrow then, I might even return them too.

But it's not the same as reading your own copy!

And I'd forget to give them back. I've got library books I borrowed 10-15 years ago sat somewhere at home Embarassed

So long as you put them altogether and stick up a sign saying "myf's library" then L-space should sort out the rest.
