Hi Caspian!

Please tell your friend Grumpyboy thank you for me! 'Daddy Promise' hasn't opened Raidar's tummy compartment yet. But Alexandra sent me the whole sentence where daddy used it. It is our special code phrase we said when he and mommy had to work all the time when we first got here. That no matter where he was, even if I couldn't talk to him… he…

I'm not gonna cry Raidar.

Down on the ground it was our secret password if someone had to come pick me up that I didn't know. It meant that the person telling it to me was OK to go places with, because it was a daddy promise that he would never let anyone hurt me.

Raidar is asking me if you are my special friend like Valentine is his special friend. I said we were special friends like in "A Horse and his Boy."

I was going to do one of my science experiments from the new ones I got for Christmas, but it took me a minute to find the boxes. And when I opened one up, all the stuff was just jumbled in the box and not put away neatly. Mommy just thinks Daddy may have opened the box to check everything was inside, but Daddy always told me that you have to put all your things back where you got them so the next person can find them. I don't think he would leave the box a mess.

I don't think Dr. Martha is happy about her mess. She said all the non 'sencial people should get on the New Dawn and go down to the ground base until she finds the source of the stink. I don't think Uncle Seth is too happy about that suggestion. He thinks a person who knows what happened to my Daddy is still around somewhere.

Davi was humming yesterday. She only hums when she is thinking about someone. I wonder who she is thinking about? Maybe Uncle Seth!

Your friend,
Stevie

A couple of things to note:
1) "Daddy Promise" doesn't open Raidar's compartment, but let's keep it in mind for future.
2)The science experiment box had been opened and messed up and, as Stevie points out, this is uncharacteristic of Steven. A couple possibilities:
A) Steven took something and the missing part is a clue and/or
B) Steven used some parts of the kit to create the stink, possibly in order to evacuate the station
3) If there is someone on the station that was involved in Steven's disappearance, he or she could sneak out in the evac.
4) Seth and Davina, sitting in a tree... Wink

THIS I doubt. While its not unreasonable for such a science kit to contain the materials to create a foul smell, it IS unreasonable for it to contain ENOUGH of the chemicals to create a smell that is A) so long lasting and B) so widespread.

However, I do think the state of the box may contain a kloo of some sort. We need mroe information.

Perhaps all Steven needed was one chemical and he used it in conjunction with others he already had.

Another possibility is that someone else was rummaging around in the box since Christmas. Arthur Rasmussen failed so whoever sent him sent another person, perhaps?

All this is total SPEC, but it's always good to think a bit ahead.

according to his blog entry on Dec 25, he got the following from Steven for Xmas:
Quote:
Soda Pop chemistry set & Young Scientist set #4 chemistry set

The Young Scientist set #4 chemistry set can be found here. Notice that this set contains the kit for "Bacteria & Fungi".

Couldn't find an exact match for "Soda Pop chemistry set" but could be referring to this.

SPEC away! Very Happy

That really is interesting... Do we know for sure which chemistry set was messed up? Can someone find out?
