Thanks for the group hug, Dio. I'd just like to post my sentiment about what started the argument in chat that led to this group hug for the record.

Anyone can see that there are some points of the plot of this game that - at best - raise several questions. I'm sure it's not a revelation to anyone that it's a bit silly to think that a professional PI needs all of us to solve a puzzle trail that was left specifically for him. I can think of some rebuttals to that as well, but that's not what I'm trying to do right now.

I just want to say that if you have a problem with the game and the way it's being run, please keep those comments to the META section or the #orbital channel. Some of us are putting our "Suspension of Disbelief" hats on and enjoying the game, despite the "Why the hell...?" questions.

See my [Spec] post in General which for some reason, possibly because it is 3:26 am here, I am having trouble linking here directly.

As for the argument about how to proceed, we have these all the time. (there is a long thread in LCP about whether we should "fix" a poker tournament which had diametrically opposing viewpoints) I think that we are all frustrated by various frustrating parts of the game. We have learned to respectfully disagree without taking it personally or to feel threatened by it, in fact, my long held believe is that the more viewpoints the better.

Oh, I totally agree. I am all for as many differing viewpoints and opinions and as possible. I generally don't get offended easily or take arguments personally. I'm just saying that IMHO criticisms of the game should stay OOG so as not to distract people that don't share those opinions or are willing to ignore them IG. I am still relatively new to the genre and could be wrong, so I thought this would be as good place as any to start a discussion and allow others to beat me down. Smile
