[Useful] Xbox Live friends notifier

I found this program a while ago and thought that some of you here might find it useful as well: XBList

FYI, it's only for Windows since it requires the .NET framework 1.1 (he recommends Xbox Live Suite for those with Mac OSX Tiger).

I've used it for a while and it's actually pretty nice. One of the things you have to remember, though, is:
Quote:
Your GamerTag must be linked to your Passport. No special setup is required - XBList should prompt you to log into Xbox.com using Internet Explorer once, then it should be on its way. Make sure to select "Save my e-mail address and password" at the Passport Login screen. If you don't it will never log in.

List of features (XBList):
  • Constantly updates to show who's playing what
  • Shows friends that can be joined on Xbox Live in blue
  • Shows friend requests
  • Displays Xbox Live Gamer Tiles or Halo 2 emblems
  • When you hover over a Gamer Tag, it shows their Gamer Card, with extra info about when they last signed on and what they're playing. It will also show their Halo emblem if they don't have a Gamer Tile or you prefer Halo Emblems.
  • Double-clicking a Gamer Tag loads their Gamer Card, and you can also load their Halo 2 stats
  • Popup notifications when friends sign on and off, as well as on other events. Popups can make a sound if you enable sounds in the Options.
  • Works with the Xbox360 - Shows extra game info in Gamer Card popup, and uses a different icon for Xbox360 games.

Links (again):
XBList
Xbox Live Suite

Fascinating. If these programs exist and work, I wonder how hard it would be to add an 'XBox Live' module to something like Trillian or gAIM. You couldn't message your friends on XBox Live of course, but you could see who was online.

I'm pretty sure that before the end of the year you will see some sort of messaging ability between MSN Messenger and the Xbox 360.
