[TRAILHEAD?][E-MAIL] The Composer

Thought I'd better post this, is it for real?

Received an e-mail at 12:01 last night, the subject was "3."

It was from:

The Composer <composer_asplatyahoo.com>

the text was as follows:

eocd-toeydY-eyn-po

also sent to terminalskeptic, katsurame and onionring, judging by the cc. I've not e-mailed Hesh...who've the four of us contacted in common?

Is the mysterious composer of the extra bits on viard trying to say hello?

Replied with "Who are you?", guess it could have been "are you for real?", or "take me to your leader", but that's what I chose.

[Edit]

Tried ROT (nothing) and due to the postioning of the capital thought it might be reversed, but also nothing.

**Moved and re-tagged -- jamesi

Lol well 2 options really isnt it?
You just opened a junk email and probably been virused Very Happy

or

It is something to do with Hesh, Must admit the composer/viard connection seems to work. Question is though, if he/she is connected with the messages, is this another red herring. (ie a 3P operative) Or is this a new helpful person we can kill off by sending to a meeting somewhere in PPC?

Based on the timing, if it is for real, then it may have relevance for Kurt, think we need to move quickly on this:

Full text with headers and all the clever whatnot, e-mail addresses removed and two lines broken to make t sensibly widthed:

My guess is that a drunk, slightly mad perplex city player is currently having his stomach pumped in a provincial hospital.

It does seem strange that he is using Yahoo. We haven't had any ingame characters communicate from free E-mail services so far.... so possibly OOG?

We haven't really had a main contact waltzing merrily off to his doom with his head full of heroism before either, so take it seriously until we're sure otherwise?

I can't get any sense out of it so far.

It does seem a bit suspicious, but until I know what it says I'm going to treat it as a potential IG...

...not that I'm very good at this sort of thing!

The best I've got so far is that it's an anagram of "Encoded, type YOYO"

But I really don't think that's right! Very Happy

Well we know 3P agents are on earth, and that they (at least) have perfected the art of actual interdimensional travel as opposed to mere communication, so they could be here and using free email accounts, but its pretty odd if they are!

Weirdness in my inbox bugs me!

Have tried converting to ASCII codes and shifting by 3 in either direction, nothing...the hyphens are weird, are they actually part of the code; spacers to throw us off; the actual spaces?

And the capital Y is annoying too (Receda backwards?)

If it's a vigenere, I don't think it's long enough to crack by frequency analysis (anybody with better idea know for sure?), which leaves guessing the key.

Too long for an ISBN

Dunno

Excellent!

I'm not mental after all...so then, who got number 1 (or is this going to be like the postcards)?

Oliver, is the final full-stop part of thatcode or is that the end of your sentence? I think the punctuation is going to be relevant in terms of deciphering.

The punctuation is part of the email. My four people were Zeldafan8626, Saevita, and Muse Darkstar?. Not Perplex City Players, perhaps this should be News and Rumoursed?
