Well, that's his site, so he probably made it. Thanks, Brian!

Here's the timeline. I have a suspicion that something doesn't pan out; I'm checking it now. Are we sure there are only 23?

[edit] I knew something was wrong. This timeline is missing a file. See new/correct timeline a few posts below. [edit]

Labyrinth

So we saw this flux and burst of activity, and then down to nothing. Well, we saw the echoes, anyhow.

Definitely not a human footprint. This is a whomp on a huge scale that I am not sure any ordinary script could pack into such a little amount of access. The whole log is massive and ... well, unbelievable. Except it happened. You guys saw it, you all saw the spike. I'm surprised this whole subnet's not toast.

This could only have been one thing...

LABYRINTH Exclamation

From Beth's emails to Phillip...

I'm not exactly sure what happened, but I saw a huge spike in my stats and when I went to password protect the archive directory I must have done something wrong as suddenly all of the data was gone.

There is a new project at work, one that could make quick work of this. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the application myself. However, there is a function on Friday. The office would be empty. Marcus has access. Is my sanity worth the risk?

As planned, I was working late on a project and told Marcus that I would do my best to get to the hotel on time. I explained that I'd put the stuff on his desk when he left and that I would give him his key when I got to the hotel. Everything was fine and the office slowly emptied out. I went into his office, knowing that he would have superuser access to the latest Labyrinth build. It was not a problem and I could have easily explained it all away.

But she was "caught", and now she's in too deep - probably in danger.

It was Labyrinth that caused the spike on little-boxes that caused her to lose her data - or was it erased intentionally Question

The plot thickens. Wink

Cool

Hmmm... I just checked it against Brian's timestamp; and I checked all the other extensions out of the 15 to see if there was, for example, a silvia3.graffle, but didn't find anymore... What am I missing?

All of their talk of footprints, etc. is very confusing, to say the least. The caption on the new image at Paintover is "sasquatch". I've never even heard this word before, but, apparently, it's something like Big Foot or Yedi. What does it have to do with anything? I'm checking Beth's archives and Paranormal Journal now to see if they talk about these.

I guess we do not know exactly, but I have heard the term "footprint" used in a number of different ways. The obvious one is the print left from an actual foot. Footprint can also be the size of something left in a computer. Often times, this refers to how much memory a program takes up or how much space in a log something takes. For instance, if you can break into a system without leaving a log file, you have not left a footprint. On the other hand, if you are scanning a system for vulnerabilities and the action is detected and logged, you have left a pretty big footprint. Small, lightweight programs have a small memory footprint (useful when running in dedicated hardware like an organizer or calculator). Larger programs have a much larger memory footprint (like any program written by Microsoft in the past 5-10 years).
