Biography : My Work
I've never been a cheerleader-type and I certainly wouldn't have gotten an award for school spirit. I'm a behind the scenes sort of person that does what needs to be done to the best of my ability. So when I was honored with the first corporate-wide employee of the month, no one was more surprised than me. Granted, logically I was a good choice. Several months after James Avery, a brilliant and passionate man who gave his heart and soul to this company, announced his retirement leaving the company without direction. After some languishing on the decision, the company has finally appointed a new CEO. While this is ultimately a good thing, the changes and uncertainty have made many employees and investors nervous. My entire career has been spent with Metacortex in R&D, a department that represents the future of the company. By choosing me, the company is showing faith in the dedicated employees as well as a commitment to the future. It was a very symbolic choice, yet one that I hope provides me with some security.

That wouldn't have been an issue just a few months ago. I've worked under the same man since I started with the company as a college intern. We clicked immediately and he became more of a mentor than a boss. He supported me, he challenged me, but most importantly, he trusted me and I trusted him. Now I am not so sure. His demeanor toward me has slowly shifted over the past few months. It was easy to justify with the increased pressures that he has been facing, though he always rose to the occasion in the past. My work has been consistent over the past few month, my habits have not changed significantly. Yet his attitude towards me has changed. Last night I believe I discovered why.

Veerrryyy interesting. Finally, some plot!

Actually I didn't notice that was anything new either, until Omnie pointed it out, although on closer look you can see Beth has changed her story in the work section. The updates I were referring to, however, were 3 new paranormal articles.

Oh, heehee, sorry, it is new, isn't it? I mean, to go with the new phillip e-mail about her breaking into the office...and I hadn't seen it posted anywhere, I did a search. Very Happy I hadn't logged in to the archives, so hadn't noticed the new articles... cool stuff...

in the missing organs article, the Mr. Lambert from France...nod to Lambert Wilson, the Merovingian?

I don't see anything of particular significance in the others, besides the continuance of glitches...heh, whoops, we forgot the internal organs!

Was "my hobby" updated too?

Many people accept these instances on faith and consider them to be signs or miracles. Others believe that they're figments of a deluded mind or elaborate hoaxes meant to trick the feeble minded. I don't know what I believe. However, I do know that science, history, and knowledge dictate that there is a logical and rational explanation for such phenomena. They may be paranormal, but they are not abnormal.

For the past few years, I've spent countless hours living a normal life in a paranormal world. I know that every paranormal phenomenon has a logical or rational explanation. It could be something as simple as a hoax; it could be something far more complex. Today I am faced with accepting one of the most elaborate hoaxes that I've ever seen; a series of events spanning the world which seem to have come right out of the bible. Logic would dictate that this just couldn't be real. Yet on the other hand, it wouldn't seem very logical that a hoax of this magnitude would be feasible. Hopefully the truth will become clear soon.

I don't remember seeing this yesterday, but I may be wrong.

I wonder if there are any "hidden" archives added...

They did add two new paranormal activities, one of which was about animals missing internal organs.

Oh, you're right...cool, I just skimmed through it and saw that it was talking about the same general things, so didn't read closely. Yeah, what is up with the plagues? We need to look at this story. I don't know much about Biblical tales, someone please correct any mistakes I make, but this is what I remember from early private school...

The Pharaoh of Egypt and his wife found a kid floating in the water, adopted him, and he grew up to be Moses...
The Jews were enslaved in Egypt at that time...Moses realized that they were his people (definitely don't remember the details here) so he told Pharaoh to let them go or face the wrath of God... (is this where the burning bush comes in, or is that from another story? I mean, Moses got contact from God from a burning bush?). Pharaoh obviously refuses, God sends the plagues down, eventually the Jews are led out by Moses and go to the promised land. They're chased at some point, come to a body of water, Moses parts it so that the Jews can go through, and then it closes on the people following them so that they drown. Oh, and didn't food and nice things come out of the sides of the water? I think I remember something like that...

Anyway, so let's try to figure out the significance of all this. The plagues come before the exodus to freedom. So maybe these glitches indicate that the Matrix is going to break down, and the people inside will have the option of being freed, like possibly at the end of Revolutions, TMO? Anyway, the plagues are symbols of punishment from God against enslavement, so maybe it's just meant to show that the coppertops are enslaved in the Matrix and that this is not a good thing (although I have my doubts about whether or not it is a good thing).

Another possibility is that, instead of the foreshadowing being on such a grand scale, maybe it's just a hint that the main characters, Beth and probably Phil, will be freed at some point in this game?

The more interesting question, I think, is whether this has some literal meaning besides simple foreshadowing/symbolism. If we follow the pattern set in the Matrix movies, then...no. But the religous connections are never as blatant as they are in this game. And of course we have no reason to believe that this would follow the pattern set by the Matrix movies. *cough*

Ideas?

Wait a minute, wait a minute. What am I missing? Does anyone have the original way it was written at "My Work" and "My Hobbies"? Because I can't tell if I'm looking at something always there or something new.

Good guessing... but I think the plagues are more or less more to symbolize revelations. OR perhaps more the "Great Unplugging"...

Aye, aye.

And Smith is going to be that undoing, as you should undoutbdedly gather from the previews for Revolutions. I bet by the point Revolutions begins there are no humans left, every human has had Smith uploaded to it.

Of course we also know now that the end is coming not only for man, but for machines as well through Smith.
