I think that after Kurt finishes telling us the whole story (his whole interrogation with Helena Frye and everything) we might want to consider having him sharing his information with Violet and/or Scarlett and vice versa. We've been keeping all three of them in the dark about each others' activities for far too long in my opinion. If this conspiracy really does involve Helena Frye and/or Sente, it might be prudent to have everyone aware of the fact. After all, these guys might be more effective working as a team.

Lets face it, while they remain apart, without seeing the big picture, they can't do their job effectively. We are all gaining from working in a team, why shouldn't they?

I get the impression of what some people said earlier. 3P led Kurt there to distract the police from 3P's activites.
The line "Okay, it's time. She'll be here by now. Let's get moving." by the two guys at the start, really suggests they were expecting Frye to be there. But how did they know that??
How did 3P knew the police were going to turn up at that time?
Another alternative is that the 'she' they were reffering to could be a girl they were expecting us to send at the designated time. But that seems doubtful really, it was Kurt all along.
Another line that really confused me is this...
'I couldn't make out the date - the text just looked like random noise to me'
Text looked like random noise??? Huh???

I think random noise is just an expression. Like random scribbles. "The writting was like runes" or something else. I don't know. You get the idea

IMO, 3P want to move something, Frye was going to be involved all along, 3P discover they are compromised by reading Kurt's blog (openly published on our internet for our moley friend to see), decide to use him as a cover, Frye tells the police that Kurt is going there to join 3P, gullible police chase him, 3P get away with doing whatever they want to do and Frye feels very happy that everything worked out well. The only slip-up they made was underestimating Kurt's amazing ability to get around their surveillance (did they know about the room?) and listen to snippets of their conversation such as the one above that incriminate Frye. Sadly I don't think it'll stand up in court.

I wonder when we'll get the rest of the story, after all he's been missing all day...

How are we supposed to get people from Perplex City to assist us if communications are compromised? Sure it is possible that a '3P mole' read Kurt's blog, but it doesn't strike me as playing fair?

To me it seemed more as if he couldn't make out any details using his fancy infrared contact lenses, like if you try to digitally zoom in on small text in a photo, so he could tell there was text there but couldn't read it.

/swoon My hero!!!!!! I knew he'd make it home safely. Kurt rules!!!
Ahem. That out of the way, I'd like to agree with Spankit. It would probably be helpful at this point to let Scarlett, Violet, and Kurt work together. They each know their own important things, and I'm not sure it's in our best interest to keep these things separate.
Also, I do think we're getting into a bit of a confusing situation here with Earth-viewable blogs and the Earth-based 3P. There's not much else our contacts in PPC can do to connect with all of us at once other than by using blogs, so that means we need to have that means of communication open. Yet, it doesn't make much sense to think we're the only ones who can read those blogs, does it? How will we solve this problem?

I strikes me there are possibly four 'players' here.
1)Kurt
2)3P agents or mercenaries stealing something (probably the Ioniser)
3)The Police with Frye in charge-why they were there is a big mystery. It makes me think Frye isn't a 3P agent-or is working undercover with them.
AND
[spec]
4) A group of other people with military grade keys who are running around scaring Kurt making him run into the arms of Frye. So they must be a well funded group of people. I think we're supposed to assume it's the police but that certainly isn't clear. It's written in a Miss Marple non-explicit way but rather than a saucy vicar's wife, tea cakes and stopped clocks we have IR contact lenses, aerial dromes and abandoned underground stations.
We should have a saucy vicar's wife.

I am assuming that the 'she' was Frye. That Frye was there to do a drop off with the 3P agents, but she brought along the police (hence the ' ...want to know how Frye managed to get the police involved in this. Would've thought that the third wouldn't want to risk...'). Note they are not expecting the Police but are expecting Frye.
So Frye uses the *sting* on Kurt to do the drop, but Kurt gets what was promised, a chance to hear the compromising info on Frye.

I think I'll disagree there.
Kurt's funky software indicated that there wasn't anyone in the building except the ?3P agents*? when he entered. If Frye was in there, she'd have had to come past him when he was hiding to get to the top of the stairs, where he was knocked over.
Frye obviously wasn't in the tunnel where the ?3P agents? were talking, or they wouldn't have been moaning about her. I don't think she arrived until the police got there (if she was there at all... it'd be a rare thing for the chief of police to get mixed up in a sting), hence had no opportunity to meet the ?agents.
My theory is that Kurt's presence stuffed up an intended capture of known 3P agents by the police. I'm not sure where this leaves Frye in the grand scheme of things.
Then again, I'm on two hours' sleep, so all of the above could very easily be utter rubbish.
*I'm not convinced that they're 3P quite yet. Perhaps brotherhood?

Duckiemonster I concur, I think there it was a bungled sting. But HUZZAH for Kurt! Maybe Violet will get her head out of her backside and finally admit her love for Kurt and his suave spy skills.
