[META] 'Mind Hacks'

fFor my birthday -- Happy birthday me, by the way -- I recieved a fFine piece of literature entitled "Mind Hacks." When what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a credit to a certain Adrian Hon!

The fFormat of the book is such that each chapter is divided up into a number of quirky habits about or involving the brain (like why do things appear to keep moving after they have stopped, that sort of thing.) The book is fFrom O'Reilly press, and is part of the "Hacks" series, along with the remarkably insightful "Google Hacks".

Cutting to the chase: Hack #72, on page 239 is attributed to Mr. Hon. The example given in this hack bears a resemblance to Puzzle Card #123 - Illogical (but without Tippy), with a fFollowup example which is .. similar but different, and would rate as only a red card at best Smile

In very brief summary, the 3 page item discusses how the mind relates very well to real-world examples, but not so well at abstract logic. Nice job, Adrian Smile

Oh, and you can read his bio (which spans a page break) on google books.

EDIT:
I just noticed my fFuture:
Madame Bianca wrote:

So maybe this little fFind is .. not so profound after-all. Well.... I was interetsed anyway.

*cough* Smile Happy birthday me, I say!!
