Yes Danives that has already been said by myself and Hituro previously... could I give out my first trout for that?
Well, Mokey and I had both suggested that even before you. So you could trout, but only if you wish to be trouted as well. I don't think you want to be the person who casts the first trout in this case...
Like I said, we should post under the name Shana Prouset so as to minimize our chances of being caught by the person we're imitating.

So until disproven I double trout your trout on me! :-p

But you forget, I've had an anti-trout cape since last April. I can't be trouted!

Since we're getting closer to uncovering the name of the person who probably put the message on the CD for us (The Sound Engineer, TSE), perhaps we should talk about what to do with that info once we figure it out?
I personally still don't trust Detective Frye. If we tell Kurt the name he's going to immediately tell Frye. If she's actually 3P (heck, that entire "branch" of the police could be 3P operatives for all we currently know) then TSE is probably going to end up dead in an alley somewhere.
If possible, I think we should contact TSE directly. Unfortunately, it's just as likely that TSE is 3P at this point, so we won't want to reveal too much.
Maybe we can come up with a plan where both Frye and TSE think they know about the other, but really don't. Then plant some kind of trap for whichever one is really the 3P operative?

maybe the question to be asking is how the engineer (or whoever) got hold of the information to put on the cd. The info had to be coded and then put onto the cd when it came out which means that it would have been months earlier (if not years) and all the info was correct! This engineer will have some big questions to answer
the plot thickens

Well, seeing as I have come close to being trouted, I'll attempt to put up something useful, lol.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://www.hesh-intranet.com/heshencrypted/file_system_secure.php
Now its probably not very useful, but something I can say for sure:
Sorry I cant really be of much use, its just what Ive found
PS: Oh, and
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
they use an xml sheet that contains all the info about the users, so you can get into more than 1 account

not sure if its considered brute force (probably not!) but as 2 of the employees are getting married ive been trying passwords that could be related. My thinking is that if the're getting married soon and have to choose a password itll probably be related.
so far ive tried
wedding
marriage
groom
bride
Mrs rowe-favel (his surname)
olivialovesjack
jacklovesolivia
and a few others but still no luck
any suggestions?

I'va also tried a few around the Daemons, like godaemons, daemonsrule etc..
no joy.
I suspect the password will be either alphanumeric, or generic... damn now I'm getting poetic....

They make it easy for us by leaving people who have left the company in the employee database, and giving us the dates when they left.
Possibilities then:
Jinhing McGovern (is that a male name? I wasn't sure) - Leave Date: 19/12/268
Cyrus Quinton - Leave Date: 01/10/268
Colin Clivedon - Leave Date: 01/10/268
Missed one. There's also:
Skip Hammersmith - Leave Date: 23/12/268
EDIT: Okay, so Skip is a producer not a sound engineer, but I still think he's a candidate

I'm really not sure which thread this should go in, but one thing I'd like to know is the significance of the date on which the meeting occured. If the sound engineer isn't a member of 3P and Helena Frye was supposed to secretly meet with 3P, why was it supposed to occur 7 days after the Kindling? Did the Kindling set into motion some sort of series of events involving 3P?
Now consider the other possibility: the sound engineer is a member of 3P and wanted us to believe that Helena Frye is working against us. Then any date would be a legitimate date on which to pull this sting operation. The arbitrary date of 7 days after the Kindling is just as good as any. To me, this sounds more logical than the Kindling actually being significant to 3P. Based on this logic, and the fact that Helena brought a SWAT team with her to the meeting, I think the message was planted by a 3P agent to dupe both us and the PCPD. Then again, I don't really know anything about the Third Power's relationship to the Kindling.

I'd go with the choice of date being arbitrary, but deliberate - a way to set a random specific date in the future

Can't you repost that thread on how to use the new filesystem? I had to look at it every time I needed something done.

If they were so important to you, you should have been keeping a local copy. I've put one into your private space.
